Hal Levitt-designed Lakefront House for $20 Million

This architecturally distinguished Washington State house that first appeared for sale less than one full day ago has been placed on the market for sale. For the first time ever, this stunning gem in Medina’s exclusive Evergreen Point peninsula – the same neighborhood where Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates own homes – has entered escrow to be sold for $20 million, just one day after it came on the market for the first time ever.

According to Rich Report the fast-acting buyer is an LLC whose officers are associated with Tim Panos, a principal of Seattle-based real estate developer Panos Properties, which owns and manages a vast portfolio of retail properties and commercial properties. Considering that Panos paid an impressive $1.5 million over the listing price for his new midcentury home, it’s no surprise he’s paid so much more than the asking price – the house happens to be sandwiched between two homes he already owns at Evergreen Point.

This alluring wood and stone structure was built in the early 1970s, and has been owned by the same family for the past five decades, and was built by the late architect Harold “Hal” Levitt who was best known for designing homes for celebrities like Olivia Newton John, Burt Lancaster, Dean Martin, Debbie Reynolds and many others.

In addition to being situated on 115 feet of waterfront property and featuring a brand new dock, the property is comprised of a lushly landscaped one-third acre parcel filled with specimen-planted gardens and a century-old Japanese maple, all of which complement its waterfront location perfectly. The single-story house also has a beautiful pool that winds its way underneath and around it as it winds its way around the corner.

In addition to the three bedrooms and the matching number of bathrooms, there is also a kitchen, dining area, and living room that are all meticulously preserved in the living area with terrazzo flooring and carpeting. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls provide sweeping vistas of Lake Washington and the city lights of Seattle on the adjacent shore, which are all beautifully maintained.

As well as a galley-style kitchen fitted with square-tiled countertops and backsplash, vintage stainless appliances, a breakfast nook, and a seated wet bar embedded into the walls of the family room, the home has a large, spacious family room with a seated wet bar and a metal-hooded fireplace inset among the stacked stone walls.

It is also equipped with a formal dining room that features a floating sideboard topped by a mercury mirror-embedded wall and a two-way fireplace that connects to a sunken living room. Additionally, there is an office and a master retreat that includes a window-lined seating area and a spa tub with a view as well as an office.

Windermere Real Estate/East held the listing in the name of Anna Riley and Denise Niles, who both work for the company. In Riley’s opinion, the house is the only residence in Washington designed by Hal Levitt, and he claims it is the only one in the world.
