Charlize Theron $3.3 Million House in SoCal’s Studio City

Just a month after listing her mother’s Los Angeles residence nestled in a celeb-heavy area of the Hollywood Hills for $3.8 million, Charlize Theron has taken a step up the real estate ladder for Gerda Maritz. Public records reveal the seasoned actress—who already possesses three other properties in Southern California—has recently invested $3.3 million in a contemporary farmhouse-style dwelling located in the coveted Colfax Meadows neighborhood of Studio City.

Originally constructed in 2016 and recently renovated, as per the listing, this two-story home boasts five en-suite bedrooms and six bathrooms spread over a little more than 3,300 square feet of open-concept living space. The interior is embellished with ornamental wainscoting, crown molding, wide-plank wood floors, and lofty ceilings, while abundant windows invite ample natural light indoors.

Theron’s newly acquired domicile occupies less than a quarter-acre plot, situated at the end of a broad driveway leading to an attached two-car garage at the front of the white wood-sided edifice. A pathway leads from there to the glass-panelled front door, which grants entry into a living area adjacent to a dining room featuring a coffered ceiling and built-in china cabinet. Additionally, there’s a snug family room centered around a fireplace flanked by bespoke shelving and sliding glass doors opening outwards. The gourmet kitchen is equipped with white oak cabinetry, a marble-clad eat-in island, and premium Miele and Wolf appliances.

Ascending the floating iron-railed staircase leads to a luxurious master retreat complete with a balcony, a “diva” walk-in closet, and a two-way fireplace connecting to a lavish spa-like bath furnished with dual vanities, a standalone soaking tub, and a spacious glass-enclosed shower. Outdoors, the private grassy backyard features a fire pit, a heated pool and spa, and an al fresco lounge area complemented by a built-in Hestan grill.

A native of South Africa, the 48-year-old Theron gained widespread recognition for her roles in films such as The Devil’s Advocate, Mighty Joe Young, and The Cider House Rules. She clinched the “Best Actress” Oscar in 2004 for her portrayal of real-life serial killer Aileen Wuornos in Monster. Theron’s impressive filmography also includes appearances in North Country, Tully, Bombshell, The Italian Job, Mad Max: Fury Road, and Atomic Blonde. Under her production banner, Denver and Delilah Productions, she has produced The Burning Plain, Dark Places, and Long Shot.

Apart from her recent purchase, Theron also owns another Studio City residence acquired for $2.6 million in late 2022—reportedly housing another family member—a 20-acre ranch in Ojai purchased for $4.2 million in the summer of 2018, and her primary residence, a 1920s Mediterranean-style villa in the Hollywood Hills acquired for $1.6 million in the late 1990s. As for her mother’s former Hollywood Hills abode, it is currently under contract for sale.
