Eva Longoria and José Bastón’s $23 Million Beverly Hills Estate

As a Hollywood A-lister, Eva Longoria and Jose Bastón are on the move, hoisting their nicely secluded and colorfully appointed Beverly Hills estate on the market with an asking price of $22.888 million, the price that only Hollywood royalty can afford.

As an actress, producer, serial entrepreneur and the wife of a veteran media executive, the actress, producer and serial entrepreneur will be looking to almost double the amount they spent on the almost 1.5-acre spread that they bought nearly five years ago for $13.5 million when they were married in Mexico in 2016.

With eight bedrooms and nine bathrooms, plus two additional powder rooms, and a commodious 11,000 square feet, the sprawling contemporary mansion is nestled on a winding private lane in Benedict Canyon. The property is further protected by electronic gates and cameras.

Despite being newly remodeled, the two-story structure was bland as day-old dry toast at the time the couple bought it, with truckloads of generic staged furnishings. According to Longoria, Bastón is an avid art collector and a “frustrated architect-turned-interior designer” who favors a clean, contemporary style that doesn’t sacrifice comfort or functionality.

It is true that the home, beyond the lacquered cherry-red front doors, is a treasure trove of warmth, organic textures, and lux finishes, as well as a trove of modern artworks crammed throughout.

The house also features a wine room with climate control, a Taschen library, a sophisticated home office, and a media room with rich crimson velvet theater drapes and a nubby gray bouclé sectional sofa.

Although Longoria is known for playing Gabrielle Solis on “Desperate Housewives,” she is neither a desperate nor a traditional housewife, but she enjoys cooking for her family and friends.

She loves the kitchen the most in the house, according to Rich Report. Besides plenty of counter space and a sunny breakfast area that opens to the backyard, this avid cook recently launched a cookware line and a tequila brand.

Longoria doesn’t know how to operate the microwave in her house, so don’t ask her for instructions on how to do so. For entertaining, there is also a separate, well-stocked prep kitchen that is spacious and well-equipped.

An azure mosaic tiled pool and spa, poolside cabana with telescopic glass walls, a large deck with panoramic views of the cross-canyon mountains, an L-shaped glass pavilion, a professional-grade gym, and lots of evergreen artificial turf are just some of the amenities in the backyard that feel like you’re at a resort. It features lighted tennis courts, a paddle ball court, a tented cabana with a beverage station and several children’s play structures below and out of sight of the house.

Before she and Bastón hooked up, Longoria paid $11.4 million for a Hollywood Hills compound owned by Tom Cruise. After 2.5 years on the market, the property was finally sold in 2020 at a two-plus-million-dollar loss

It was about 15 years ago that Longoria picked up a home that she still owns in the foothills above Zuma Beach in Malibu; she and Bastón also own a home in Mexico City.
