New 131-Foot ‘Mini-Megayacht’, Fronted by an Infinity Jacuzzi

Van der Valk has established itself as a prominent player in the yacht-building industry, with a rich history of constructing over 1,000 vessels spanning more than six decades. Despite this extensive legacy, the Dutch shipyard continues to push the boundaries by creating yachts that are larger and more impressive than ever before.

The latest testament to Van der Valk’s commitment to excellence is the commencement of construction on Project Evo, a custom superyacht that promises to be the largest in the yard’s history. With a length of 131 feet, Evo not only surpasses all previous fleet members in size and volume but also introduces a fresh design aesthetic.

Yoeri Bijker, head of sales at Van der Valk, emphasized the yard’s unique capability and flexibility to undertake the construction of fully customized superyachts in this size range. Evo was commissioned by seasoned seafarers who sought to create a bespoke blue-water cruiser for their family after owning several high-performance yachts. Opting for Van der Valk ensured premium quality throughout the build process, according to the Dutch yard.

The sleek exterior of Evo was crafted by SFG Yacht Design and Fancy by Dada, with Cristiano Gatto Design contributing to both the exterior and interior design. The collaboration resulted in a vessel characterized by lengthened proportions and distinctive angles, while maintaining a sleek profile. Diana Yacht Design and Ginton Naval Architects provided additional expertise in refining the design to meet the owners’ exacting standards.

Constructed entirely from aluminum, Evo features a round-bilge, fast-displacement hull designed to enhance planing performance. Powered by two MTU engines, the yacht is projected to achieve a top speed of 24 knots, a cruising speed of 19 knots, and an impressive range of 2,200 nautical miles. Built to ABS class and compliant with the latest IMO Tier III emissions regulations, Evo is equipped for cruising in protected waters while minimizing environmental impact.

Bijker highlighted Project Evo as a prime example of Van der Valk’s ability to collaborate with clients and external designers to create exceptional yachts without compromising on performance, speed, or stability. With a generous beam of 28 feet, Evo boasts an interior volume of 370 GT, providing luxurious accommodations for up to 10 guests. The owner’s suite is situated on the main deck, complemented by four guest cabins on the lower deck. Additionally, three double crew cabins and the captain’s cabin are located on the lower and bridge decks, respectively.

While specific details regarding the interior decor remain confidential, Gatto expressed the owners’ satisfaction with the design process, which culminated in the creation of a concept befitting a “mini-megayacht” within a remarkably short timeframe of 10 months.

Indeed, Van der Valk’s Project Evo exemplifies the yard’s ongoing pursuit of excellence, setting a new standard for luxury and innovation in yacht construction.
