Sporty Hybrid Catamaran Uses AI for Greener Cruising

“We aimed to design the boat of the future, breaking free from conventions while utilizing cutting-edge technology for minimal environmental impact,” designer Fulvio De Simoni stated.

The Seawolf X is part of the new Blue series from the Italian yard Rossinavi. Drawing inspiration from phytoplankton’s ability to harness sunlight for energy, these hybrid-electric Blue cruisers feature solar panels that capture clean energy, which is then stored in advanced batteries to power both the engines and onboard systems.

Rossinavi claims that the Seawolf X can operate in full electric mode 100% of the time on day trips, 90% on multi-day trips, and 80% on transatlantic crossings. Additionally, the yacht’s “Hibernation” mode reduces power consumption while at anchor, and any excess energy generated can be supplied to a quay or private property. Remarkably, Rossinavi asserts that the Seawolf X can generate enough energy to power an entire villa. The vessel is also equipped with two diesel generators for quick battery recharges, and shore power can fully recharge the batteries in just five hours.

Enhancing its futuristic credentials, the Seawolf X is powered by an artificial intelligence system. Described as “a brain that can learn from observation and predict the needs of guests,” this AI system minimizes the yacht’s environmental impact by helping the crew implement eco-friendly operational changes and monitoring the battery pack to maintain an optimal charge range of 20 to 80 percent.

Traditional luxury features include a sociable cockpit centered around a pool, an expansive sundeck, and a plush bow area with a hidden pool and a convertible home theater.
