Lebron James’s $18.5 Million Former Miami Mansion

The opulent Miami mansion, once the residence of basketball icon Lebron James and still adorned with the custom-branded wallpaper he personally selected, has recently been acquired for a substantial $18.5 million.

Situated in the upscale Coconut Grove community, the expansive property spanning nearly half an acre changed ownership in the early part of this month. Property records indicate that the purchasers are entrepreneur John Lie-Nielsen and his spouse, Darling Lie-Nielsen.

The property, under the keen representation of listing agent Jason Zarco from Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices EWM Realty, remarkably spent less than a month on the market. Zarco expressed the swift transaction, citing the scarcity of offerings comparable to this property at the million range in Miami’s open bay. He emphasized the mansion’s impeccable condition, breathtaking views, and excellent entertaining spaces as factors contributing to its rapid sale.

This distinguished estate extends 80 feet along the waterfront of Biscayne Bay, featuring a private gate and a coral-wrapped wall. In addition to the primary residence, the property boasts a guest house situated above the three-car garage.

Among its noteworthy amenities are a private dock, a heated pool complete with a swim-up bar, a gym, a spa equipped with a steam room and sauna, and a ground-floor entertainment lounge featuring billiards and poker tables.

The main house, spanning 13,930 square feet and constructed in 2010, showcases floor-to-ceiling windows in its primary living areas. It encompasses six bedrooms, eight full bathrooms, one half bath, an elevator, a wine cellar, a theater, a living room with a bar, and an office/library.

A standout feature is the primary suite, featuring two bathrooms, walk-in closets, and a rooftop terrace with panoramic views.

Zarco noted a distinctive element in the property—the guest house wallpaper personally chosen by the NBA star. The wallpaper, adorned with golden crowns and James’ initials “LJ,” adds a unique touch to the residence.

The new owner, John Lie-Nielsen, serves as the founder and CEO of Coconut Grove-based One Park Financial, offering small- and mid-sized businesses access to working capital. As of now, the Lie-Nielsens have not responded to requests for comment.

Lebron James initially acquired the property for $9 million in 2010 during his tenure with the Miami Heat. Subsequently, he sold it in 2015 for .4 million when he returned to the Cleveland Cavaliers. In 2021, the mansion changed hands again, purchased by Jeff Conry, the former CEO of iAero Airways, and his wife, Sherianne Conry, for $12.75 million, based on property records.

At 38 years old, Lebron James, the NBA’s oldest player and leading scorer, is currently in his sixth season with the Los Angeles Lakers. His illustrious career includes four NBA championships—two with the Miami Heat, one with the Lakers, and one with the Cavaliers. James, a 10-time NBA Finals competitor, holds four Most Valuable Player Awards, two Olympic gold medals, and an impressive 19 All-Star appearances.
