Google Co-Founder Sergey Brin’s Point Dume Estate

One of the world’s richest men has joined Laurene Powell Jobs, Marc Andreessen, and WhatsApp co-founder Jan Koum in Malibu’s beachy 90265 zip code.

Locals have been curious about which celebrity was visiting Point Dume in recent months when a security detail parked on a posh street. They were busy setting up their deluxe Malibu compound, which was owned by co-founder Sergey Brin and his now estranged second wife Nicole Shanahan.

On a 1.2-acre property, the house was built circa 2005 by a local attorney and his wife on a notably deep lot. Pink famously bought the estate in 2010 for .9 million and lived there for a few years as her primary residence. Matthieu Pigasse, a French investment banker, purchased the house in 2016 from the singer of “Please Don’t Leave Me” for $12.5 million.

Despite not being identified as the buyer, Pigasse himself flipped the property for .5 million in September 2020. For the record, the house is now owned by a mysteriously named LLC managed by a San Francisco attorney who is well known for her very selective clientele, which seems almost exclusively comprised of tech billionaires and founders of some of the world’s largest companies.

Its long driveway leads past a grassy lawn and pool area, to the house, which lies privately at the rear of the property, invisible from the street, behind gates and a thicket of tropical plantings. There are some elements of Craftsman style in the roughly 6,300-square-foot building, as well as some decorative nods to Balinese luxury. A gym, several fireplaces, and a kitchen with two islands and Viking appliances are among the amenities of this home, which has five bedrooms, six full bathrooms, and two powder rooms.
