Derek Jeter’s $29 Million Tampa Mansion

Just months after renting the estate to Tom Brady, the former Yankees star is listing it for sale.

If Derek Jeter finds a buyer for his sprawling waterfront mansion in Tampa, Fla., his tenants may be rushing to find new lodgings.

When your tenants are Tom Brady and his supermodel wife, Gisele Bündchen, it can be a little awkward.

After Jeter signed a two-year, $50-million deal to play quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Brady family moved into his nearly 22,000-square-foot estate in April.

Renters won’t be too shocked by the “For Sale” signs going up in the front yard.

“Tom and Derek negotiated terms in the lease agreement so we could list, market, and, obviously with proper notice, show the property,” an interview with Tampa-based realtors Smith & Associates featured listing agent Stephen Gay.

According to Gay, the Bradys have not shown any interest in buying the compound although it is, “the most impressive home to ever hit the market in the Tampa Bay area.”

Between 2005 and 2006, Jetter’s company Kered Connors LLC purchased three waterfront lots on Tampa’s Davis Islands for .7 million. This man-made island is 1.3 miles from downtown Tampa and has some of the city’s best residential neighborhoods.

In 2011, Jeter finished building the huge, custom-built home on the 1.25-acre lot, the biggest on Davis Islands.

“The attention to detail, the quality of the finishes, and the materials used in the construction are just exceptional. Really, no expense was spared in building this home,” details Gay.

Jeter fought for, and won, permission to build an eight-foot fence around the property, which earned it the nickname “The Great Wall of Jeter” among locals.

Featuring hand-carved, gray Connecticut granite, and limestone, the main house has seven bedrooms, eight full bathrooms, and eight half bathrooms.

This spacious, open foyer has 24-foot ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows that provide breathtaking views across Tampa’s Hillsborough Bay from the west. You will find hand-polished Venetian plaster, hardwood millwork, and marble mosaic tiles, as well as tailored silk drapery, everywhere you look.

There are multiple TVs, a full-service bar, and a full-service bar in the clubroom of the “grand salon” foyer. The room’s glass corner wall slides open and leads out to the 9,000-square-foot waterfront patio with an 80-foot, saltwater lap pool and large outdoor kitchen, perfect for entertaining.

There are two huge Sub-Zero fridges, a Wolf range, four dishwashers, a walk-in pantry, a butler’s pantry, and two marble-topped islands in the gourmet kitchen.

The upstairs master suite features a spa-like bath with an enormous steam shower, dual walk-in custom closets, and a bedroom with a fireplace and balcony.

The home also features a wine cellar, an office with wood paneling, a movie theater, a professional gym (of course), a guest suite, and a separate au pair wing. Two air-conditioned garages can accommodate up to six cars.

A rare feature of the estate is its 345 feet of open bay frontage, along with a deep-water dock and two boat lifts.

As a result of its proximity to the water, the Bradys may not be interested in buying it. Brady told Howard Stern on Sirius XM shortly after moving in that he was not pleased with the number of boaters constantly circling around outside hoping to catch a glimpse of the couple.

In 2019, the Bradys put their former Massachusetts home on the market.

Currently, Jeter and Hannah live in a 19-floor, 5,200-square-foot palace in the Grove at Grand Bay skyscraper in Miami. The couple moved there after Jeter bought the Miami Marlins Major League Baseball team in 2017. He is currently the CEO and co-owner of the team.

Stephen Gay says there has already been considerable interest in the Tampa home. “We’ve had a ton of calls, but I suspect many are fans of the Bradys who just want to get a look inside.”
