Ariana Grande Sells Hollywood Home for a Loss to Bad Bunny

Last year, Ariana Grande, the pop sensation, made headlines when she acquired a secluded Hollywood Hills residence from Cameron Diaz for almost $5 million. Notably, Grande has now decided to part ways with her cottage-sized hillside home in the coveted Bird Streets neighborhood, located approximately 1.5 miles west of her recent acquisition.

Although the property was not officially listed on the market, public records reveal that it was sold for $8.3 million to Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, widely known as Bad Bunny, the Puerto Rican rapper with a massive global fan base. Unfortunately for Grande, the selling price represents a notable decrease from the .9 million she paid for the residence less than two years ago in early 2021. When factoring in Los Angeles‘ controversial new mansion tax and other associated closing costs, Grande appears to have incurred a loss exceeding $1 million during her brief ownership of the 0.74-acre property.

While details and photos of the residence are limited due to the off-market transaction, tax records indicate that the property comprises three adjoining parcels perched on a steep hillside, providing breathtaking views. The primary structure on the lot is a low-slung cottage constructed in 1946, encompassing less than 1,600 square feet with three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

The cottage underwent extensive renovations around 2020, showcasing a charming blend of rustic and contemporary design elements. The property features a sizable outdoor patio, a two-car attached garage, and a dark-bottom swimming pool.

One of the residence’s most distinctive attributes is its unparalleled privacy, situated behind an exceptionally long gated driveway. Shielded from the public eye by tall hedges and trees, the entire property remains concealed, offering panoramic views over the bustling Sunset Strip, West Hollywood, and beyond from its hillside perch.

In addition to his recent acquisition in the Bird Streets, Bad Bunny owns a more expansive estate elsewhere in the Hollywood Hills, purchased just last year for nearly $9 million. While his intentions for the properties are unclear, Bad Bunny, with a thriving music career, can comfortably manage both residences. In 2022, his touring endeavors generated an impressive $230 million, and he also achieved the status of having the world’s bestselling album, surpassing competition from major artists like Beyoncé, Drake, and BTS.
