Introducing 150-foot Support Catamaran

Ultimate Catamarans, a German shipyard, has introduced a stylish and innovative concept in the realm of support vessels, challenging the conventional notions of their design.

Named the 150 Yacht Support, this 150-foot multihull concept embodies the Spaceline design philosophy of founder Ralph Wuttke, emphasizing efficient aluminum construction, generous internal spaces, and high-quality finishes. The design, created by Hans Konings of KYC Yacht Consultancy and Laura Pomponi of Luxury Projects, features a sporty exterior characterized by sleek lines extending from the bow to the stern. Designed to complement larger superyachts, the 150YS offers a remarkable 4,300 square feet of storage space on its main deck, suitable for various items, including tenders and four-wheelers.

Pomponi expressed the design philosophy, stating, “We have developed the UC 150 YS project with a global approach as we designed both exteriors and interiors with the precise aim to create the perfect harmony between sports and operational performance with uncompromised elegance and comfort.”

The vessel boasts a garage at the stern with a pop-up door for discreet storage when not in use. The forward garages are also equipped with upward-opening doors, ensuring easy access and discreet storage for toys and equipment. Additionally, the aft deck features a touch-and-go helipad, allowing for the prominent display of helicopters.

Ultimate Catamarans offers customization options for both the exterior and interior layouts to cater to individual client preferences. As a standard configuration, the living quarters are spacious and well-lit, comprising four staterooms for up to eight guests, cabins accommodating up to 15 crew members, and a luxurious waiting lounge on the bridge deck, suitable for pre- and post-expedition gatherings.

Regarding interior design, Pomponi highlighted the modular high-end approach that allows for extensive personalization, with a range of materials available for owners to select. Each material in the palette is chosen to create a comfortable and inviting ambiance, all while considering the vessel’s performance.

In terms of performance, the 150YS can achieve a top speed of 20 knots and has a cruising range of 5,000 nautical miles at 18 knots. The catamaran boasts low fuel consumption and can be fitted with solar panels to generate additional eco-friendly energy.

Ultimate Catamarans positions the 150YS as a “game-changer” in the field of support vessels, challenging conventional norms with its innovative design. While the vessel’s groundbreaking potential remains to be seen, it undeniably showcases that support vessels can bring a substantial dose of style and innovation to the water.
