An 142-foot Catamaran Like a Luxury Villa on the Seas

For those with a curiosity about the future of catamaran design, look no further. The Tecnomar brand, under The Italian Sea Group (TISG), has recently unveiled a groundbreaking multihull known as “This Is It,” presenting a futuristic vision that appears to have been transported directly from the year 2050.

This innovative vessel was conceived and crafted by TISG’s in-house team, showcasing engineering expertise contributed by Lateral Naval Architects in the United Kingdom. Spanning an impressive 142 feet, “This Is It” boasts a distinctive and angular silhouette, characterized by lines that evoke images of fantastical sea creatures. Crafted from sleek aluminum, the hull has been meticulously optimized to enhance hydrodynamic efficiency and reduce fuel consumption, while the curved superstructure, also fashioned from aluminum, demonstrates an extraordinary level of craftsmanship.

Giovanni Costantino, the founder and CEO of TISG, emphasized the groundbreaking nature of the project, stating, “The realization of this extraordinary project challenges the ‘conventional’ perceptions, driving us to completely recreate the boundaries of aesthetic parameters.”

Featuring an interior volume of approximately 750 GT, the catamaran offers lavish accommodations for up to 14 guests across six generously appointed staterooms. The owner’s suite stands out with its notable features, including a spacious skylight, a dedicated terrace, and an impressive two-story vertical garden.

Spread across four decks, the living spaces are characterized by a soothing color palette of beige and gray, complemented by wood and leather finishes. The interior design incorporates nearly 6,500 square feet of glass windows, ensuring a luminous and open ambiance while affording captivating views. Additional notable features include a luxurious massage room and a well-appointed galley equipped for events and show cooking.

The exterior design of “This Is It” evokes the essence of a luxury villa, complete with expansive balconies and serene relaxation areas. The aft deck stands as a particular highlight, featuring a striking swimming pool, a comfortable lounge, and ample space for sunbathing.

Commissioned in 2020, the construction of this extraordinary catamaran commenced in 2021. It is set to make its debut at the Monaco Yacht Show later this month, scheduled from September 27 to 30, offering enthusiasts an opportunity to witness this remarkable vessel in person.
