As a result of two years on and off the market, billionaire businessman Steve Wynn has sold his Sin City mansion for $17.5 million. Although the sale price is far below the last ask of $24.5 million, it is several million more than the $13 million the former casino titan paid in March 2018 and is the highest residential sale for the year to date in Las Vegas.
After numerous harassment and sexual misconduct allegations were reported in The Wall Street Journal in 2018, Wynn resigned as CEO of Wynn Resorts. He denied the allegations. While he and his wife, Andrea Hissom, had lived in the plush duplex villa at the Wynn Las Vegas for about a decade, he was evicted as part of a separation agreement with the company he founded in 2002 and still bears his name. The turn of events forced Wynn and Hissom to look for a new place to live when in town, where they could shack up.
Located in Country Club Hills, a guard-gated development about 12 miles west of The Strip, in Summerlin, the ochre-colored Mediterranean mansion was custom built in 2001 for Wynn’s brother Kenny Wynn and his wife Dale, who sold it for $6.75 million in 2009. The second owner remodeled the mansion before selling it to Wynn, who then remodeled it again.
It sits behind huge iron gates on nearly 1.5 acres of lush vegetation and is dubbed Museo by the avid contemporary art collector who owns works by Matisse and Picasso. In about 15,000 square feet, there are six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, three powder rooms, and a trio of powder rooms. If the interiors resemble the alternatively mannered and showy opulence of a five-star hotel, that’s probably because Todd-Avery Lenahan, one of the hospitality industry’s leading designers, is currently Wynn Design & Development’s president and chief creative officer.

The double-height foyer is accented by a dramatic lighted and crystal accented staircase, custom carpets, electronic window coverings, marble floors, and mohair and silk walls. Even the four-car garage got a deluxe treatment, with arched doors and travertine floor tiles emblazoned with a Louis Vuitton wedding ring quilt pattern.
