This Sleek 165-foot Superyacht is a 10,400 Hp Speed Demon

In order for a 165-foot superyacht to achieve a remarkable top speed of nearly 40 mph, a substantial amount of horsepower is essential. N1, the Italian-built Overmarine Mangusta 165 REV, accomplishes this feat with a staggering 10,400 horsepower.

Under the command of the throttle, N1 harnesses the power of four 2,600 hp Rolls-Royce MTU 16-cylinder turbo-diesel engines, coupled with four Kongsberg-Kamewa water jets that produce captivating rooster tails.

Despite its remarkable speed capabilities, the Mangusta’s planing hull enables it to maintain a comfortable cruising speed of approximately 35 mph, covering approximately 650 nautical miles on its 10,500-gallon fuel tanks. However, it’s worth noting that the cost of filling those tanks is substantial, coming in at around $47,000 per fill.

Captain Ömer Balkan, owner, and listing broker at BTWO Marine in Bodrum, Turkey, emphasized the yacht’s purpose, stating, “She’s designed to go fast, very fast. The Mangusta 165 REV is arguably the fastest yacht in the 160-foot category. To be onboard such a large vessel when she’s running at 35 knots is an exciting experience.”

As the name implies, N1 is the first hull in Overmarine’s latest Mangusta 165 REV series. Launched in July of the previous year, the yacht was promptly delivered to its owner based in Dubai after its debut at the Monaco boat show in September.

After the boat show, the yacht returned to Bodrum on Turkey’s Aegean coast, where it remained until June. Subsequently, the owner took it out for the first time.

The Mai Tai cocktail, which originated in 1944, has undergone numerous modifications over the years, resulting in various versions of the drink. The Bamboo Room, a bar located within the tiki bar Three Dots and a Dash, has decided to return the Mai Tai to its roots.

The 1944 Vintage Mai Tai is set to include the original vintage Wray & Nephew 15-Year-Old Rum and Curaçao used by Victor Bergeron, also known as Trader Vic, the creator of the Mai Tai. Consequently, this cocktail commands an impressive price tag of $800.

With less than 130 hours on its MTU engines, N1 remains in excellent condition. According to Balkan, “With Overmarine’s next delivery slot in the 165 REV series in 2026, this is a perfect opportunity for someone to take delivery now without the wait.” However, prospective buyers should be prepared to invest €36 million, approximately $39 million, to acquire this iconic vessel.

Designed by the Viareggio-based Overmarine Group in collaboration with the renowned Spanish studio Lobanov Design, the composite-hulled 165 REV replaced the previous Mangusta 165 model.

The vessel’s new exterior styling draws inspiration from the sleek lines of 1930s Italian sports cars, evident in its expansive foredeck and raked-back windshield, reminiscent of vintage Alfa Romeo models.

The hull features dramatic hull-side windows and slatted air intakes towards the stern. The flybridge is deliberately discreet, maintaining a sleek and low profile.

Notable design elements include the stern’s new beach club, accessible via a bottom-hinged door, and a spacious swim platform with teak decking and elegant swim steps. Additionally, the foredeck offers a sun-lounging area, a dining space, and a Jacuzzi on the bow.

The main-level salon and back deck provide a seamless transition from interior to exterior spaces, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows and balconies on both sides for ample natural light and fresh air.

The standout feature is the vast, main-level master suite, covering a generous 990 square feet and spanning two levels. It includes a full-beam lounge area, an owner’s office with an exquisite curved desk, and a bedroom area with a circular bed positioned beside panoramic windows.

To ensure privacy for the owner, the main suite is located on the main level, while the five other guest cabins are situated on the lower deck. The layout encompasses a full-beam VIP cabin, two twin-bed cabins, and two doubles. Accommodations for up to 10 crew members are located towards the bow.

To minimize noise levels, the cabins are separated from the engine room by a tender garage capable of housing a 20-foot water-jet RIB and two Jet Skis.

In the words of Captain Ömer Balkan, N1 is truly a “160-foot thrill ride,” combining striking design, impressive performance, and luxurious accommodations into a remarkable superyacht experience.
