Austin Parker understands that achieving a vessel of exceptional style necessitates the collaboration of two esteemed design houses. The Italian shipyard, now under the ownership of Turkish entrepreneur Baris Nalcaci since late August, has engaged the expertise of Pininfarina Nautical and De Simoni Yacht Design to give life to its latest addition to the fleet. These Italian design studios have recently established a joint design boutique in the yachting hub of Porto Lotti, marking their second collaborative endeavor following last year’s X2 concept.
The CAT56, a 56-foot catamaran, seamlessly merges the comfort and spaciousness of a multihull with the sleek and sporty aesthetics characteristic of a superyacht. Its exterior radiates a modern elegance for which both design houses are renowned, boasting clean lines and expansive windows that stretch from the bow to the stern. With a 23-foot beam, the catamaran offers a generously roomy interior while maintaining a width that ensures comfortable docking in marinas.
Within the CAT56, the living spaces are bathed in natural light, centered around a salon featuring an open-plan kitchen and lounge, seamlessly extending to a spacious cockpit. The design team takes pride in the refined finishes, describing them as of “superior quality compared to boats in the same segment.” Accommodations are equally impressive, with a full-beam owner’s suite featuring a walk-in closet and a desk, two en suite guest cabins, and a dedicated crew cabin.
The exterior decks also exude style and functionality. The cockpit is furnished with tasteful pieces and offers direct access to the sea, while the flybridge hosts a wet bar, sunbathing area, and helm station.
The CAT56 represents the maiden Austin Parker design under the stewardship of Baris Nalcaci, marking a significant milestone for the shipyard. Fulvio De Simoni, CEO of De Simoni Yacht Design, expressed confidence in Nalcaci’s ability to infuse both financial resources and industrial expertise into the endeavor, ensuring the incorporation of cutting-edge technologies in the production of the new catamaran and the existing range of boats.
Production of the CAT56 is scheduled to commence in September, heralding the first in a series of models that Pininfarina and Fulvio De Simoni will collaboratively develop for Austin Parker in the forthcoming years. Stay tuned for more exciting developments.
