Tom Brady Wears a Patek Philippe With a 3-piece Suit in Vegas

Wherever Tom Brady goes, he brings along an impressive collection of luxury wristwatches.

The former New England Patriots quarterback made a striking appearance on the blue carpet during the grand opening celebration of Fontainebleau’s Las Vegas on Wednesday. This event marked 16 years since the project’s groundbreaking and attracted various stars like Keith Urban, Lenny Kravitz, and Kim Kardashian. Among them, Brady stood out, donning a charcoal gray three-piece suit with a polka-dot tie and black dress shoes. However, it was his sophisticated choice of wristwear that truly caught the eye—a Patek Philippe Grand Complications watch.

Specifically, Brady sported the Sky Moon Tourbillon, ref. 5002J-001, which originated from Patek Philippe’s introduction of the Star Caliber 2000 at the turn of the millennium. Initially, the manufacturer presented a 21-function pocket watch, inspiring the launch of a wristwatch version in platinum by 2001. Brady’s version, crafted in 18-karat yellow gold, came later and was discontinued in 2014 along with the rest of the Sky Moon Tourbillon series. Despite its discontinuation, the watch’s luxurious features remain timeless.

Beyond its opulent gold case, the 42.8 mm model features a white dial adorned with Roman numerals and four subsidiary dials indicating the day, month, leap year, and moon phases. The retrograde date display stands out in red enamel, and the classic “Patek Philippe Geneve” signature graces the top of the watch face. The transparent backside, topped with sapphire crystal, provides a clear view of the mechanical movement.

The in-house movement is equipped with 55 jewels, operates at a frequency of 21,600 vph, and includes a tourbillon, moon phase, minute repeater, and perpetual calendar. With a 48-hour power reserve and water resistance up to 30 meters, the watch boasts additional bonuses. A black leather crocodile strap, complemented by an 18-karat yellow-gold folding clasp, completes the piece. For enthusiasts looking to emulate the former quarterback’s style, the watch is available on the resale market for a substantial $1.35 million.

Brady’s choice of the Sky Moon series aligns with the widespread appreciation for these timepieces. Recently, a Patek Philippe Sky Moon Tourbillon ref. 5002P-001 went to auction at Christie’s, with experts estimating a sale between $1.2 million to $2.1 million. Ultimately, the timepiece was sold just above the lower estimate, reaching $1.5 million. Brady’s penchant for exquisite timepieces has been evident throughout the year, with sightings of nine notable watches on his wrist, ranging from Rolex to Richard Mille. Undoubtedly, more surprises await as he continues to unveil his extensive collection.
