Kelce’s Surprising Vintage Watch to Celebrate His Super Bowl Win

If you’re tired of the usual watch selections dominated by classics like Daytonas and Nautilii, here’s something different: Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, a known Rolex collector, opted for a distinctive choice following his Super Bowl victory celebration. At the XS Nightclub at Wynn Las Vegas, Kelce was seen sporting a Breitling Bentley Flying B, a collaborative model from the early 2000s that marked Breitling’s departure from its typical pilot’s watch domain. Encased in a 38.5mm 18K white gold case adorned with 74 diamonds, the watch boasts a white mother-of-pearl dial, diamond indices, a jump hour complication, and a sub-seconds display.

For those unfamiliar, the jump hour complication features a “digital” display where hours are shown on a disc behind a window, transitioning immediately to the next hour at the top of each hour. Kelce’s Breitling Bentley Flying B, introduced in 2006, pays homage to Bentley’s 1930s mascot, aligning with the popularity of the jump hour display during that era. Powered by an automatic, chronometer-certified movement, the model was discontinued in 2010.

This choice stands apart from Kelce’s usual Rolex watches, such as the Submariner ref. 126610 and the Day-Date ref. 228238, and also deviates from the prevalent oversized pilot’s watches of early-2000s Breitling. Kelce’s preference for a unique timepiece may herald an intriguing and unpredictable journey into watch collecting. Only time will tell.

Other notable celebrity watches include Anya Taylor-Joy’s Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 101 Reine, George Kittle’s Casio Calculator Watch, Ryan Gosling’s TAG Heuer Carrera, and Timothée Chalamet’s Cartier Tank Cintrée. Each of these choices reflects individual tastes, from vintage-inspired designs to nostalgic digital favorites and rare, limited-edition pieces.
