Luxury Dog-Friendly Hotels

Even the most pampered dogs are catered to in these exclusive properties.

Many of us have become accustomed to spending a lot of time with our pets since the outbreak of the pandemic. The idea of leaving behind our beloved pets is understandable when planning our next vacation. In spite of this, there are a number of luxury dog friendly hotels that cater to even the most pampered pooches.

To get there, you’ll have to figure out how to get there first. As the number of pets flying in the air has increased in recent years, private aviation companies are now allowing canine companions (as well as cats, rabbits, and even pigs) to travel with their owners.

The operators of some airlines go the extra mile to make sure pets are safe and comfortable. With VistaJet’s VistaPet program, air hostesses are fully trained in pet first-aid, and dogs are provided with gourmet meals, healthy treats from Michel Roux, and extra soft handmade sleep mats. A four-week Fear of Flying course can also be arranged by the global business aviation company for nervous puppies.

Rich Report has compiled a list of the best luxury dog-friendly hotels to help you decide where to go. The exclusive abodes promise a memorable stay for you and your pet, whether it is a beachfront retreat in Los Cabos or a Georgian manor in the picturesque English countryside.

Inn by the Sea

Inn by the Sea, located on a mile-long stretch of sandy coast in Cape Elizabeth, is the perfect place to start our list of the best pet friendly luxury hotels. One of the few hotels that doesn’t charge you a fee when you bring your dog along is this elegant ocean-side property that has welcomed dogs for more than 30 years.

There are water bowls, beach towels, comfy blankets and handmade treats in your room from the moment you arrive. The staff goes the extra mile to make you and your pets feel at home. With their owners, dogs can eat al fresco on the seaside deck or in the cozy lounge, sampling dishes like Meat Roaff (steamed rice with natural ground beef and vegetables) and K9 ice cream (soy milk honey gelato topped with dog biscuits).

In October, when the hotel’s pool is closed to humans for a week and completely taken over by the hotel’s canine guests, consider staying with your dog. You can even take a rescue dog home with you if you love animals but don’t have one yourself. With the help of the Animal Refuge League, Inns by the Sea has helped more than 150 dogs find loving homes after temporarily moving to the seaside resort for the past five years.

Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch

Located at Beaver Creek ski resort in Colorado, the Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch is our second choice of the best dog friendly luxury hotels.

You can’t wait to get home after a long day on the slopes. The accommodations feature roaring fireplaces, wooden beam ceilings, and stunning views of the mountains or valleys below, reminiscing of a traditional lodge. You’ll need to pay $30 per night to bring your pet, plus a one-time $150 cleaning fee, but your four-legged friend will be well cared for with a plush dog bed and an in-room dining menu.

For dog lovers, the hotel’s canine ambassador, Bachelor, is perhaps the most exciting attraction. The adorable Saint Bernard pup can often be found snuggled up by the fire during winter months, or hiking in the mountains with guests in summer.

The Little Nell‍

After staying in Colorado, we visit Aspen – home to The Little Nell. It is the town’s only ski-in/ski-out resort and has long been a favorite hangout spot for celebrities. With electric car charging stations, growing fresh produce in the gardens, and encouraging guests to donate to the Environmental Foundation, the property has made significant efforts to minimize its impact on the environment.

The hotel offers a Puppy Jet Lag Kit to guests who have pets upon arrival, which includes a leash, home-baked dog bones, silver bowls, and a comfy bed. Additionally, there is a special pet menu with wagyu beef, salmon, and other dishes made with the best ingredients.

Guests staying at The Little Nell with pets will pay $125 for their first night and $25 for each subsequent night. The valets can walk your pet for an extra fee while you hit the slopes or eat at the gourmet restaurant.

The Chatwal

You can keep your four-legged friend entertained when visiting New York by exploring Central Park or paddling in the lake at Prospect Park dog beach. You won’t find a luxury hotel with a dog-friendly policy like The Chatwal when it comes to finding luxury hotels for your stay.

Located on 44th Street in Manhattan, the iconic property offers plenty of green spaces to take your pup for a walk, including Central Park, Bryant Park and Riverside Park.

If your pooch is a serious pampered pet, Chatwal’s Pet Wardrobe supervisor is on hand to curate a personalized pet closet with a Chatwal-red fur jacket, booties, bow tie, and pet bandana.

Las Ventanas al Paraíso, A Rosewood Resort‍

The stunning beachfront resort is the perfect place for a relaxing break with your dog, overlooking the Sea of Cortez on the coastline of Los Cabos.

In addition to gourmet made-to-order dishes, special massages, and even doga classes, the staff goes the extra mile to make your pet’s stay unforgettable. Your dog will be given a portable pet cabana so that he can stay cool at the beach, and dog butlers will take care of his every whim, from walks along the seafront to birthday parties.

Mandarin Oriental, Boston‍

Boston’s bustling cultural scene and array of restaurants make it a popular weekend getaway destination, but if you’re considering leaving your dog behind, you might want to reconsider. Whether you’re kayaking on the Charles River or walking the 2.5-mile Freedom Trail with your pup, you won’t run out of activities.

Choosing where to stay is easy when you walk into the Mandarin Oriental lobby and meet Philip Knuepfer’s friendly golden retrievers, Bonnie and Tara. You can opt for the Pampered Pup program if you wish to make your dog’s stay even more special, which includes a private shopping consultation and fitting with a Fish & Bone canine concierge and a wag bag of goodies and gifts.

If you wish to visit a gallery or bar, Back Bay Veterinary Clinic and Angell Animal Medical Center provide 24-hour veterinarian care.

Four Seasons Hotel, Hampshire

Also, if you’re visiting the UK, your dog will enjoy the Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire just as much as you do. Set in 500 acres of beautiful English countryside, the Georgian manor house is just one hour and a half drive from London. It is the perfect place to walk long rambles and visit local pubs that welcome dogs.

A pair of adorable Shetland ponies lives at the equestrian center of this luxury retreat, which is sure to delight horse lovers.
