It’s great to see him back! Herjavec is best known to the general public as the “nice guy” judge on America’s version of “Shark Tank” and founder of an eponymous IT security company. A 60-year-old prolific investor just paid nearly $26 million for a sprawling estate encompassing 7.4 hilltop acres and anchored by a modern farmhouse with panoramic views.
A sale price of $26 million is a new record for Hidden Hills, a guard-gated community in Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley that is home to Nicki Minaj, Madonna and almost every Kardashian.
Herjavec has owned Hidden Hills homes before. In 2014, he paid $14.6 million for a smaller estate in the neighborhood; in 2021, he sold it for $17 million to former nail polish executive Miriam Schaeffer.
In terms of size, Herjavec’s new property is the largest of all Hidden Hills properties. Consequently, the building has been visited by many high-profile celebrities over the years; keen real estate observers will recall that Kris and Kylie Jenner toured the then-under-construction building in 2018, though they did not purchase it.
Michael Maggi, founder of Goldfinch Capital, and his wife Erin bought the newly-finished spec mansion for .2 million in 2019. Erin redesigned the interiors herself. Despite several price cuts, Herjavec eventually bought the massive estate in early 2021 for $29 million, after it had been on the market for two years.
The giant home spans nearly 15,000 square feet and features six bedrooms and eight bathrooms, as well as a glass-walled gym, sauna, state-of-the-art kitchen, and an upstairs master suite with dual bathrooms and a private view deck. As for outdoor amenities, there is a batting cage, golf greens, an infinity-edge pool, and BBQ area with ample space for al fresco dining.
Additionally, there is a full-size tennis court and a sand volleyball court, a koi-filled pond, hiking trails, and two separate garages with room for 11 cars – surely an amenity Herjavec appreciated.
In addition to their $32 million penthouse at the One57 skyscraper in New York City, Herjavec and wife Kym Johnson, a former “Dancing With the Stars” professional, still own a Toronto home as well as an $8 million vacation home in Newport Beach.
