The Detroit Lions’ season may have experienced a muted roar, marked by a significant loss to the Chicago Bears, but quarterback Jared Goff remains undeterred in his real estate ventures. Recent records indicate that Goff, despite the team’s challenges, has made an $8.6 million investment in the property next to his off-season residence in California.
Originally constructed in 1952, the house underwent a substantial remodel in the early 1970s. According to tax records, the property last changed hands in 1976 for a remarkable $105,000. The heirs of the recently deceased long-term owner are now reaping the financial rewards of this fortuitous investment, as the house was never officially listed on the market.
While details about the property are scarce, a review of records reveals that the approximately 3,500-square-foot, L-shaped structure occupies a relatively spacious 10,000-square-foot lot in the tightly-packed Manhattan Beach neighborhood. The house encompasses four bedrooms and four bathrooms distributed across two full floors of living space. Additionally, the architecturally nondescript residence features an attached two-car garage and a semi-detached accessory structure, which includes another two-car garage and some form of upstairs storage space or guest living quarters.
Although Goff’s plans for the new acquisition remain unclear, the house exhibits an outdated and unappealing aesthetic. Characterized by bleak, towering walls and extensive beige stucco, the property contrasts sharply with the luxurious surroundings of Manhattan Beach. Given these factors, it is highly likely that Goff will opt to either demolish or extensively remodel the entire residence.
Adjacent to the newly acquired property stands Goff’s primary residence, a Mediterranean-style mansion that exudes unabashed opulence in stark contrast to its recently purchased neighbor. Acquired for $10.5 million in the spring of 2023, this main residence provides Goff with a lavish living space. With the addition of the adjacent house, Goff now commands nearly half an acre of prime Manhattan Beach real estate, albeit landlocked.
In addition to his expanded compound in Manhattan Beach, Goff also owns an ocean-view home in Hermosa Beach, acquired several years ago for nearly million. Alongside his soon-to-be-wife Christen Harper, Goff maintains an estate in the upscale Bloomfield Hills suburb of Detroit, serving as their residence during the football season. Despite the challenges faced by the Detroit Lions on the field, Goff continues to make strategic moves in the real estate market.
