The Vanguard Skeleton by Franck Muller Tells Time Like a Rainbow

You’re used to Color Dreams, but with a higher level of sophistication.

There’s a new color addition to Franck Muller’s sportiest timepiece series.

Vanguard’s Skeleton Sapphire movement showcases seven vibrant colors in a nod to the season. Its anodized aluminum skeleton is vividly anodized in hues of red, orange, purple, and two hues of blue, highlighting the movement’s manual wound, 2.5Hz movement. Green and yellow color schemes highlight the mainspring barrel and seconds ring of this watch. There are also hand-chamfers on the flanks, microblasted bridges, and circular brushing on each wheel of the watch.

There is no other model in the Franck Mueller Vanguard series that features this exclusive color scheme—including the vibrant Master Banker V45. This exclusive model is most similar to the brand’s Grande Date, Gravity, and other Skeleton watches, but it is enhanced by its sapphire casing.

High-profile watchmakers have released Sapphire crystal timepieces recently, including Gerard Perregaux, Hublot, and even Chanel. Sapphire crystal timepieces are having something of a moment. These models are notable for their openwork dials, bezels, and straps, among other features.

Franck Muller has added to this trend by offering the Vanguard Skeleton Sapphire timepiece exclusively at his retail stores for $150,000.
