Rafa Nadal’s Grand Slam Record With This Million Dollar Watch

It was the same pricey tourbillon he wore when he won the French Open.

The Richard Mille watch on Rafael Nadal’s wrist helped him win another Grand Slam title.

On Sunday, the 35-year-old tennis pro defeated Daniil Medvedev after five exhausting sets to win the Australian Open with his lucky $1 million tourbillon timepiece in tow.

This wrist candy was designed by the Swiss watchmaker especially for the King of Clay to commemorate a decade of fruitful collaboration.

Richard Mille’s exclusive high-performance polyamide material, known as “TitaCarb,” is reinforced with 38.5 percent carbon fiber to make it ultra-strong and lightweight.

The watch is a fitting representation of Nadal’s athletic interests. In order to create a mesh structure reminiscent of stringing a racket, a special gossamer steel cable has been woven together to form a skeletonized manual movement with 19 jewels and a 38-hour power reserve. In fact, the suspended tourbillon caliber can resist accelerations of more than 12,000 gs due to the “strings” that reduce friction and impact during a tennis match. The brand set a new record, just enough to counter a certain Spaniard’s blistering forehand.

Additionally, it is the watch of choice for the newly crowned king of men’s tennis, Rafael Nadal. With his win over the weekend, Nadal surpassed Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic, who both hold 20 Grand Slam singles titles.

Only 50 of RM 27-04 watches were made, so you’ll need to be as quick as Rafa to snag one.
