World’s Wildest 1.6-Liter Hypercar, The Mercedes-AMG

Mercedes-AMG, known for its high-performance vehicles, produced a limited run of just 275 units of the extraordinary F1-inspired hypercar called ONE, boasting an impressive 1,049 horsepower (782 kW). This hypercar, equipped with a contemporary 1.6-liter Formula 1 powertrain, is a technological marvel that pushed the boundaries of Mercedes engineering. Although acquiring access to this automotive gem was a challenging feat due to its limited production, an unprecedented opportunity has arisen as a pristine example of the ONE has surfaced for sale in the second-hand market.

Despite the term “second-hand,” it’s almost comical to use it in this context, given that the listing proudly declares zero miles on the odometer. The potential new owner, however, need not share a close relationship with Mercedes to become the custodian of this formidable machine. To secure ownership of this automotive masterpiece, they will likely need a substantial sum well beyond the original $2.93 million price tag set by Mercedes.

In return for this considerable investment, the fortunate buyer will possess a unique automobile capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in a mere 2.9 seconds and reaching an astounding top speed of 217 mph (349 km/h). The ONE’s prowess is not limited to straight-line speed; it has also etched its name in the record books at the Nurburgring, claiming the lap record with an impressive time of 6:35.183, surpassing the previous record by over 3.5 seconds.

Notably, it has conquered other renowned tracks, setting lap records at the Nurburgring GP Circuit in 1:56.096, a staggering 16 seconds ahead of its closest competitor, the Porsche 911 GT3. Additionally, the ONE boasts lap records at the Red Bull Ring and Hockenheimring, demonstrating that its Formula 1 heritage isn’t just for show – it translates into record-setting speed on the track.

This particular ONE is currently available for purchase at F1rst Motors in Dubai, a location crucial to note because transporting it to North America might pose logistical challenges. In June 2022, the company informed customers that it would not ship the car to the U.S. and Canada due to regulatory concerns that could potentially compromise its performance. The hope is that the next owner of this extraordinary machine will revel in driving it extensively, adding many more miles to its pristine odometer.
