Introducing the Tesla Semi Trucks

The Cybertruck will also follow in 2023, according to Elon Musk.

After multiple delays since its original announcement in 2017, Tesla (NASDAQGS:TSLA +1.22%) is finally about to release its Semi Truck. Musk, the CEO of the automaker, said the company plans to deliver the Semi Trucks by the end of the year, equipping the fleet with a 500-mile range. Aside from that, Musk also claims the long-awaited Cybertruck will finally be available in 2023, although he hasn’t given any indication of when it will be released.

The Semi Truck is still unclear who will receive it before the end of 2022, but Electrek reports that PepsiCo could be among the first to use it. One of the biggest orders for the Semi was placed by the conglomerate back in 2017, when it bought 100 units for shipping and logistics. For Frito-Lay Modesto to become a zero-emission facility, 15 of these units will be set aside.

Given Tesla and Musk’s track record, both release windows may once again be delayed.

In the automotive world, BMW and Toyota have partnered to develop hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.
