Introducing Moon Silver Koenigsegg Regera

If you weren’t able to secure an allocation for a brand-new Koenigsegg, your next best option is to explore the used car market. At RM Sotheby’s upcoming Paris auction, a delightful 2021 Regera will be presented.

Koenigsegg introduced the Regera in 2015, showcasing the production version a year later. Distinct from the more track-focused Agera released simultaneously, the Regera was limited to a mere 80 units globally. The auction house anticipates a selling price between €2 million ($2.1 million) and €2.6 million ($2.8 million) for this particular unit.

What makes this investment worthwhile? Beyond the exclusivity of owning one of only 80 units, the successful bidder will possess a marvel of contemporary engineering. Powering the Regera is a twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter V8 generating 1,084 hp. However, Koenigsegg has gone further, integrating three electric motors to achieve a combined output of 1,479 hp.

The Regera stands out for its unconventional transmission; it eschews a traditional gearbox in favor of a single-speed direct-drive system for power transmission. The car’s remarkable speed was demonstrated last year when it set a 0-400-0 km/h record in just 28.81 seconds, surpassing the briefly held record by the Rimac Nevera at 29.94 seconds.

Adorned in Moon Silver with distinctive bright blue accents on the hood and brake calipers, this specific Regera, with only one previous owner and a minimal 522 km (324 miles) on the odometer, awaits its fortunate new owner to unleash the formidable power of its V8 engine.
