Introducing Bugatti Chiron Super Sport

Bugatti has unveiled a truly exceptional creation, the one-off Bugatti Chiron Super Sport “Golden Era” hypercar, a masterpiece that blends automotive engineering with the world of fine art. This unique vehicle, commissioned by a discerning Bugatti client, was a two-year project undertaken by Bugatti’s customization division, Bugatti Sur Mesure.

Based on the 1,578 hp Chiron Super Sport, a model renowned for its astounding speed of 273 mph and powered by a 16-cylinder engine with 1,180 ft lbs of torque, the Chiron Super Sport “Golden Era” showcases the essence of internal combustion engine performance before the age of electrification.

The idea for this remarkable creation was inspired by a Bugatti client who sought to celebrate the Super Sport and its powerful internal combustion engine. Achim Anscheidt, Bugatti’s design director at the time, explained, “He wanted to do something truly unique in celebration.” This led the Bugatti team to delve into the brand’s history to honor significant moments.

The exterior of this masterpiece features 45 hand-drawn sketches of Bugatti’s iconic models, paying homage to Bugatti’s evolution from 1987 to the present day. These sketches are presented against a striking two-tone color scheme that transitions from metallic Nocturne Black to Doré gold. Notably, Anscheidt and his team insisted on using the same pens they use for sketching on paper to ensure authenticity and quality, resulting in over 400 hours of meticulous handwork directly onto the car’s paintwork.Bugatti Chiron Super Sport Golden Era is masterpiece of hand-crafted luxury | HT Auto

Inside the cockpit, the celebration of Bugatti’s legacy continues with three contemporary models and the iconic 1924 Type 35 adorning the interior leather of the driver’s door. Distinctive plaques and badges signify Bugatti’s original era from 1909 to 1956 and its present manifestation from 1987 to 2023.

Achim Anscheidt described this creation as “probably the most demanding piece of tailored personalization work that my team and I have ever worked on.” The lucky customer who commissioned this exquisite tribute will take delivery during the prestigious Monterey Car Week in Northern California, a fitting setting for a vehicle that commemorates Bugatti’s illustrious history and its exciting future.
