Bradley Cooper on his Louis Vuitton Suit to the ‘Maestro’ Premiere

In the latest biographical drama, the renowned nine-time Academy Award nominee, Bradley Cooper, takes on the role of the world-famous American conductor and composer, Leonard Bernstein. Much like many esteemed conductors, Bernstein was known for his stage presence in suits or tuxedos. It is, therefore, fitting that Cooper, who also produced and directed the film titled “Maestro,” opted for a sophisticated Louis Vuitton three-piece suit for the movie’s premiere at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles on a Tuesday evening.

At the premiere, the 48-year-old actor posed alongside his co-star, Carey Mulligan, who portrays Costa Rican actress Felicia Montealegre in the film. Mulligan donned a Celine dress in a hue nearly identical to Cooper’s suit. Cooper’s ensemble comprised a navy vest, jacket, and trousers, paired with a crisp white shirt and a contrasting black tie.

Notably, Cooper sported what appeared to be a sleek wristwatch with a navy dial. Although press pictures make it challenging to discern the entire timepiece, Cooper has previously been seen with a special-edition IWC Big Pilot watch featuring a navy blue dial and red-gold case. Alternatively, he could be wearing a Louis Vuitton Tambour Regatte Navy 44. In September of the previous year, the actor was unveiled as Louis Vuitton’s inaugural dedicated watch ambassador, coinciding with the campaign marking the 20th anniversary of Tambour. In July, he also showcased a steel iteration of the iconic timepiece, marking 21 years since the original model’s debut.

On the red carpet, Cooper exuded the same sharpness and elegance as the character he portrays, Leonard Bernstein. Lady Gaga, Cooper’s former co-star from “A Star Is Born,” was also present at the premiere to celebrate the actor. Even Cooper’s six-year-old daughter, Lea De Seine, joined in the festivities, posing with A-listers at the event.

“Maestro” had its premiere in select theaters in November and became available for streaming on Netflix on December 20. The film is replete with well-tailored suits, a visual feast crafted by costume designer Mark Bridges. Speaking to Women’s Wear Daily, Bridges shared that the costumes serve as a reflection of Bernstein’s various emotional stages in life.

“It’s talking about him and what he’s going through as a person,” explained Bridges. “You just make choices along the way; we subsequently see him in a jumpsuit, and sort of leaving the family and things like that. So that striped shirt with the neckerchief kind of tells what upheaval he’s going through in his own life.”

The red carpet looks of Bradley Cooper and Carey Mulligan certainly stand up to the elegance associated with the Louis Vuitton brand.
