The two Telluride properties total 44 acres.
In light of ski season winding down, comedian Jerry Seinfeld and his wife, Jessica, are selling two Telluride estates in Colorado. For the larger property—about 27 acres—and its house, they are asking $14.95 million. According to The Wall Street Journal, the smaller parcel—on just 17 acres and only a four-bedroom home—will sell for $2.78 million. The buyer of the main house will be offered the second parcel first. “It’s another spectacular home,” according to Compass listing agent Bill Fandel, the property is surrounded by aspens and offers dramatic views.
A massive renovation of the larger residence in 2011 resulted in a listing price of $18.25 million for the 12,500-square-foot house, but it was taken off the market after a few months. With the price drop and buyers looking for secluded, resort-style retreats, the timing might be better now. It is being sold furnished, so you could enjoy the same view as Seinfeld did from the same leather recliner.
There are 11 bedrooms, 14 bathrooms, and a large, spacious kitchen with commercial appliances, plenty of countertop space, and multiple dining areas that can cater to the entire family. There are beams crisscrossing the ceilings of both the entertainment and private spaces in this modern farmhouse style home, complete with warm wood paneling and reclaimed plank flooring. Wilson Peak views and a massive stone fireplace make the living room double-height.Among the amenities are a gym, a yoga studio, a lower level recreation room with ping-pong and other games, a wine room, ski and other gear storage rooms (although he has no baseball diamond at his Hamptons residence). Seinfeld’s heated garage holds only four cars—he owns a Porsche collection, but he has several other places to park it. There are also some bells and whistles in the garage for auto enthusiasts, such as the ability to wash cars inside, even in winter. A 5500-square-foot deck is outside, and miles of manicured trails lead to cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking and mountain biking in the summer. In the adjoining National Forest, the trails cross Turkey Creek.
The 1991 home was originally built for a Hollywood director and featured in Architectural Digest in 1994. It was purchased by the couple for .55 million in 2007. Fandel says that after Sienfeld both it, “They completely reimagined and expanded the house.” Snow and ice are also melted in the cobblestone driveway, unlike many homes in ski towns. “it’s as good a summer house as it is a ski house,” Fandel adds. “In some places the outdoor spaces and yards are overlooked, but not here.” It’s located just 10 minutes from Telluride’s ski resort.
Along with the Colorado and Hamptons estates, the Seinfelds have purchased and sold many properties in Manhattan, their home base, and in Los Angeles.
