A Powerful Attorney Buys Drake’s ‘Yolo Estate’ in Hidden Hills

A prominent attorney has made headlines by purchasing Drake’s luxurious “Yolo Estate” in Hidden Hills. Two of those properties were sold by the Canadian music superstar to L.A. Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford in April. Now he has offloaded his Tudor-style house, known as the YOLO (You Only Live Once) estate, which measures 16,000 square feet.

In addition to being a partner at international law firm Latham & Watkins and a former U.S. assistant attorney general appointed by Donald Trump, Makan Delrahim is Iran-born. Originally listed for $14.8 million, the property went to Delrahim for a significantly discounted $11.3 million, according to records. Even so, it is still $3.6 million more than Drake paid restaurateur Larry Pollack for the property in 2012.

Six fireplaces, a wine cellar and tasting room, a movie theater with 25 seats, a recording studio and lounge, and a mechanical bull round out the glitzy amenities.

Its living room features a vaulted wood beam ceiling, a veined marble fireplace with a seated wet bar, a formal dining room with picture windows overlooking the grounds, a gourmet kitchen with powder blue cabinetry, an eat-in island, and top-notch stainless appliances.

As well as a fireplaced family room that opens to an outdoor dining terrace, there’s also a wood-paneled bookshelf that opens to reveal a nearly 2,000-square-foot master retreat with seating areas and a minibar, as well as a luxurious bathroom with marble-clad soaking tubs, dual vanities, and a “partners spa.”.”

It is also his property to own a highly customized, 50,000-square-foot megamansion in Toronto’s exclusive Bridle Path neighborhood. Rayni Williams of The Beverly Hills Estates listed the property, while Lisa Moriarity of Rodeo Realty handled the purchase.
