Explore Axiom Space for $55 Million

Teasing the prospect of a potential reality reminiscent of Hollywood movies, such as Elysium, Axiom Space has unveiled an extraordinary project that sparks daydreams about space travel. The Houston-based company is currently in the process of constructing the world’s inaugural commercial space station. Even more exciting, they have recently announced the imminent availability of private astronaut expeditions.

Renowned French designer Philippe Starck was enlisted to envision the interiors of the habitation module, creating an ambiance that allows a privileged few to experience a glimpse of the Sci-Fi universe. Axiom Space’s space tourism initiative is set to provide 10-day space expeditions to affluent individuals aspiring to encounter the International Space Station (ISS) firsthand. However, before enthusiasm takes over, it’s crucial to note that each ticket comes with a hefty price tag of million.

The Axiom Space Station is slated to replace the ISS, which is scheduled for retirement in 2024. This celestial journey encompasses round-trip transportation to and from the ISS, coupled with a 15-week training program adhering to current spaceflight standards. Temporary astronauts will reside in living quarters, a dining area, and a galley—all meticulously designed through a collaboration with Philippe Starck.

While the project’s objective is to make space more accessible, the steep cost of tickets limits the demographic that can afford this ultimate space adventure. Nonetheless, the endeavor has captured our complete attention, affirming that such ventures are indeed feasible at present. The anticipation lingers for the day when more affordable options become part of the program.
