Richard Saghian $40 million Carbon Beach Mansion

Saghian is still hunting for bargains, while many other billionaires have retreated from the market, a curated article by Rich Report. Fashion Nova’s founder and CEO paid $126 million for Bel Air’s infamous “The One” estate nine months ago, a steep discount from its $250 million asking price.

Saghian has also been wanting to upgrade his Malibu residential situation. Despite owning a swank vacation home on La Costa Beach, he’s now splashed out $40 million on a much more impressive mansion on exclusive Carbon Beach, an area commonly called “Billionaires’ Beach” because of its many Forbes-listed residents.

Saghian stepped in when the asking price was slashed to $49 million from $69 million last June. The property was sold by nursing home mogul Lee Samson, who owns dozens of Windsor Healthcare facilities in California and Arizona.

In the 1970s, Buff & Hensman designed the Carbon Beach mansion next door to one of Larry Ellison’s many homes. The house was purchased by Samson in 2015 for million, and a multimillion-dollar remodel was carried out by famous architect Richard Landry and his associate Todd Riley. Finished in 2021, the striking structure features interiors by Joan Behnke and an appealing blend of white, gold, and gray colors that enhance the sea’s visual appeal.

With textured cast aluminum panels covering its exterior and a buttress-like stucco sail adding visual interest, the residence towers above Pacific Coast Highway. A windowless façade isn’t just for style – it keeps the house private and soundproof, despite the busy highway outside. The rear is an entirely different story, with walls of glass allowing natural light and ocean views to flood every room.

In more than 6,000 square feet of living space, there are six bedrooms, six full bathrooms, and two powder rooms. An al fresco dining terrace connects a living room with a chef’s kitchen, and a central great room features fireplaces and top-of-the-line appliances. Saghian will have a private office, a balcony, a gym with its own beverage refrigerator, and a master retreat upstairs with a bronze and steel staircase.

Guests will be impressed by the reflecting pool and all-steel sculpture in the courtyard’s motorcourt, which features an automated car turntable. The courtyard leads to a “hidden” movie theater; the backyard has 70 feet of ocean frontage, as well as a private swimming pool and spa. Do you still need more? There is a built-in BBQ center, wet bar, jacuzzi and fire pit on the rooftop terrace, which boasts 360-degree views.

The $14 million oceanfront estate acquired from Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos and his wife Nicole Avant less than two years ago is likely to be sold by Saghian soon. Saghian also owns a $17 million mansion in the Bird Streets, previously owned by Avicii, in addition to those Malibu homes and The One.
