Boot Düsseldorf Boat Show: 10 Yachts to Check Out

This is Germany’s largest indoor boat show.

This Saturday, Boot Düsseldorf, the world’s largest indoor boating event, kicks off a nine-day run after a two-year hiatus. It showcases watercraft from paddleboards to superyachts in 16 big halls, with more than 1,500 exhibitors from 68 countries exhibiting. A 213-foot-long pool for watersports demos is included in the space, as well as an artificial river. International boat shows begin with this event on the Rhine’s banks. The following are the 10 newcomers who are sure to take the spotlight at the Boot.‍

An extravagant sunning and entertaining area has been designed outside the 580, as well as a luxury three-stateroom layout.‍

As far as looks go, Azimut’s 70-footer S7 appears little changed from its launch at Düsseldorf last year. A sleek exterior may resemble the 2017 S7, but what’s underneath is what counts. With triple 800hp Volvo D13 1050 IPS power, the redesigned hull has been designed in collaboration with Volvo Penta engineers for improved fuel efficiency.‍

A sexier-looking alternative to many competitors, the high-sided, 24-foot SQ240i is powered by a 50kW electric motor and shaft drive from German maker Molabo. Besides having the option of electric sterndrive propulsion, it will also feature Yamaha Harmo technology.‍

Its head-pinnace bow-bow and wave-like hardtop make the Italian Invictus TT460 day boat a big favorite with us. With the TT420, Düsseldorf’s boutique builder is entering the popular segment with the 460’s kid brother. In addition to the small tender garage at the stern, Christian Grande has designed the boat’s bold exterior. A pair of Volvo D6 engines power the 420.

With its oversized cockpit and sun-shading hardtop, this boat is family-friendly and designed by Marco Casali. SR33 will be available with a single 350hp Volvo diesel engine, which is smart thinking given today’s fuel prices.‍

With Torqeedo’s 50kW Deep Blue motor powered by BMW’s 40kW lithium-ion batteries, Contest used a 50kW motor. At the show, the newly-launched 49CS will be joined by the all-new center cockpit.‍

Delphia 11, a brand new inland cruiser designed by Tony Castro, made its Düsseldorf debut using batteries. At its cruise speed of 6mph, the 35-footer boasts a range of around 44 miles from its Torqeedo Deep Blue electric motor and 80kWh battery bank.
