In a groundbreaking partnership, Jacob & Co. has joined forces with NBC/Universal for the Scarface Opera, marking the first time Paramount has engaged in such a collaboration with a watch company. The venture introduces the iconic theme music from the renowned film Scarface, and while securing the rights posed a challenge initially, Paramount has now granted the license for the music, The Scarface logo, with ongoing negotiations for the inclusion of other legendary movie scores in upcoming projects.

With a mere press of the pusher positioned at 10 o’clock, the Scarface Opera comes alive, playing the unforgettable 120-note music. Simultaneously, the entire dial gracefully rotates 120 degrees beneath the domed, anti-reflective sapphire crystal. The innovative and patented differential system ensures that the time display consistently maintains the correct 12/6 position during this captivating musical interlude.
Prominently adorning the dial is an 18K gold, black-lacquered piano whose keys elegantly move in sync with the “Bolivia” melody. Additionally, the Scarface logo nameplate takes center stage, crafted in 18K gold. At the heart of the movement sits the 18K rose gold “The World is Yours” globe, extracted directly from the entrance hall of Tony Montana’s opulent Miami mansion.

Fueling the Scarface Opera is Jacob & Co.’s distinctive triple-axis tourbillon movement, activated by the 18K rose gold violin-shaped crank situated on the watch’s side. Comprising a staggering 658 individual components, this ultra-complex movement features a tourbillon that completes rotations in 24 seconds on one axis, eight seconds on the second axis, and 72 seconds on the third. Noteworthy is the independent power reserve for both the movement and the music box function. The watch boasts a 42-hour power reserve, while the music can be played thrice before requiring rewinding.
