Heather Dubrow is savoring every moment with her son Nick as he prepares for an exciting semester abroad in Europe. The 20-year-old will soon be heading to Florence, Italy, for his studies, but before his departure, he spent quality time with his mother, 55, and their family in St. Tropez.
On Wednesday, September 4, the Real Housewives of Orange County star shared highlights from their trip on Instagram, captioning the post, “Filing this under: THINGS THAT MAKE ME HAPPY!.”
The post featured a heartwarming photo of Dubrow and Nick beaming together on a beach. “Quality time with Nicky before we officially drop him off to study abroad,” she wrote over the image.
Dubrow also included a snapshot of herself with her husband, Terry Dubrow, 65, and another image of her relaxing on a beach chair. She revealed that her younger children, Ace, 13, and Kat, 17, also joined the vacation, adding a sweet family photo to the collection.
“Family dinners. Missing Max!!!” she wrote, referring to her 20-year-old daughter, who is starting her junior year at Tufts University, as reported by Bravo.
Nick, who is beginning his junior year at Loyola Marymount University, is studying business finance. Alongside his academic pursuits, he recently obtained his real estate license and expressed his intention to explore various career paths. In a July 2023 interview on The Daily Dish, he shared his plans: “That’s my specific major, but I got my license a couple months ago, so I’m just doing this internship to explore it a little bit. But I also want to try to do an internship kind of on the Hollywood agent side — maybe work in the mail room for a bit — or maybe work in a bank. I don’t know. I want to explore a lot of different things.”
Heather Dubrow, who is known for her candidness on RHOC, also offered some parenting wisdom in an interview with PEOPLE in May. She emphasized the importance of open communication. “Listen, four kids, different genders, different sexualities, and the best advice I can give to any parent, no matter who or what their kids are or identify as, is communication,” she said. “I was raised in a very 1950s household and people really didn’t talk about things.”
She reflected on her own upbringing, noting that issues were often ignored. “Things were swept under the rug and I didn’t want that for my family. And so it’s always been very clear communication and really the most important thing is to listen,” she continued.
As Nick prepares for his European adventure, Heather and her family are making the most of their remaining time together, cherishing these final moments before his departure.
