Emma Roberts recently shared some heartwarming moments from a family fishing trip with her 3-year-old son, Rhodes, and her fiancé, Cody John.
On Monday, September 2, the 33-year-old actress took to Instagram to post a series of endearing photos from their outing. Her caption read, “Fish. Read. Snuggle.”
The first image features Roberts proudly displaying the fish she caught, standing ankle-deep in a shallow body of water. She is dressed in casual waterproof overalls, black boots, and a white jacket. To complete her look, she wears black sunglasses and an orange cap, making her almost unrecognizable.
The next photo shows Roberts holding a colorful book titled “Gator Country” by Rebecca Renner, with the book positioned in front of her face. The carousel of photos continues with Roberts sitting in a blue folding chair, having swapped her stylish black sandals for boots, and finally, an intimate shot of her cuddling her son, who appears to be napping.
Roberts shares Rhodes with her ex, Garrett Hedlund, with whom she ended her relationship in January 2022.
Earlier this summer, Roberts announced her engagement to Cody John with a playful post. She humorously preempted her mother from sharing a photo of her son without her approval by posting a picture of herself and Cody John, showcasing her engagement ring. “Putting this here before my mom tells everyone,” she wrote in the caption.
Roberts has also expressed interest in taking on a role in the upcoming biopic based on Britney Spears’ 2023 memoir, The Woman in Me. In an interview with Cosmopolitan, Roberts mentioned her excitement about the possibility. “I was like, I love her assistant,” Roberts said, reflecting on the idea. “I mean, it’s my true dream to play Britney Spears. It’s a rumor, but I hope maybe it’ll come true.”
In a previous interview with PEOPLE in 2023, Roberts discussed the challenges of balancing motherhood and her acting career. She candidly admitted that being a working mom can be incredibly demanding. “I just see it from such a different perspective now,” Roberts shared. “Being a mom is a full-time job, so I see how for women who have full-time jobs and are full-time moms, it’s so hard, and I have so much respect for them.”
