Mercedes-Benz has officially unveiled its highly anticipated residential tower, now known as Mercedes-Benz Places | Binghatti, following a sneak preview last month. The ambitious project, with a reported budget of US$1 billion, is set to become a supertall skyscraper reaching a maximum height of 341 meters (1,118 feet). Nestled in Downtown Dubai, the tower promises breathtaking views of the iconic Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building.
Comprising 65 floors, the interior of the skyscraper will primarily house luxury residential units, totaling 150 apartments ranging from two to four bedrooms. Additionally, the tower will boast five ultra-exclusive penthouse suites, each commanding a staggering price tag of up to million, as reported by the New York Post. The opulent living experience will be complemented by an array of lavish amenities, including chauffeur services, automated valet parking, and infinity swimming pool terraces. Detailed information about additional amenities is expected to emerge as the project unfolds.
The architectural marvel will take the form of a sleek bullet-shaped tower perched on a sculpted base. Notably, the building will feature partial cladding with solar panels, a strategic move aimed at significantly reducing its dependence on grid-based energy sources.
Explaining the design philosophy, a Mercedes-Benz press release outlined, “The tower is composed of three main elements, starting with the core and its horizontal structuring of the balconies. The second element is the adjoining lamella structure with its dynamic lines, encompassing the entire volume of the tower like a frame. This contributes to the overall appearance of the building. The third element is the closed southern facade, characterized by its cladding. Its visually striking design is not only functional but also a significant contributor to the tower’s overall identity. The cladding not only provides shading from the peak summer sun but also enhances the building’s energy efficiency through the integration of photovoltaics.
Mercedes-Benz Places | Binghatti stands as the latest addition to the ongoing trend of collaborations between automotive and architectural giants. This trend has seen partnerships between renowned automobile brands such as Bugatti, Aston Martin, Porsche, Bentley, and Lamborghini, each contributing their unique touch to the convergence of luxury living and innovative design. As the skyscraper project progresses, it is poised to join the ranks of these exceptional collaborations, representing the pinnacle of sophistication and modernity in the intersection of automotive and architectural realms.
