Aston Martin’s Vantage Stuns V8 With 656 HP

The 2025 version of the Aston Martin Vantage has undergone comprehensive updates, introducing not only a refreshed appearance but also a substantial boost in power that elevates its performance to unprecedented levels. This challenges the notion that the era of thrilling combustion-powered sports cars has concluded.

Aston Martin characterizes the new model as “the most driver-focused and fastest Vantage in the famous nameplate’s 74-year history,” and an examination of the specifications validates this claim. Powering the 2025 Vantage is an extensively enhanced 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 generating 656 hp and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque, representing substantial increases of 153 hp and 85 lb-ft (115 Nm) compared to the previous model.

The engineers at the firm achieved this remarkable power surge through modifications to the V8’s cam profiles, optimizations in compression ratios, installation of larger turbochargers, and enhanced cooling. Paired with the engine is a familiar 8-speed ZF automatic transmission, propelling the rear wheels and enabling the car to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.4 seconds, reaching a top speed of 202 mph (325 km/h). The vehicle’s improved acceleration is further assisted by a new launch control system and an adjustable traction control system.

Numerous other enhancements contribute to the vehicle’s overall performance. The front body cross member has been re-engineered and re-positioned, enhancing lateral strength between the rear suspension towers. Additionally, intelligent adaptive dampers have been integrated to provide an “inherently sporting feel while leaving room to introduce progressive tighter body control.” These dampers are paired with a refined electronic power-assisted steering system.

Standard features for all 2025 Vantages include 21-inch forged wheels fitted with bespoke Michelin Pilot Sport 5 S tires (275/35 up front and 325/30 at the rear). Cast-iron brake discs are included as standard, while carbon ceramic brakes are available as an optional extra, not only enhancing performance but also reducing unsprung weight by 27 kg.
