This 10,178-square-foot home, designed by legendary Boston Red Sox player “Big Papi,” was built from the ground up in just four years by the former Red Sox player.
Rich Report would like to inform you with a lot of regret that the retired baseball player David Ortiz, also known as Big Papi to his fans, is in the process of downsizing his home and business. It has taken him 10 years to build the 10,178-square-foot Miami mansion he has now asked for $12.5 million. He has unfortunately failed to find a buyer for the contemporary space that he custom-designed from the ground up for the former Boston Red Sox player that he had been playing for the past few years. As a result of Ortiz’s induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame last year, he spent about $1.5 million over the next three years to purchase the one-acre plot of land he had decided the retirement home he wanted to build would be located on (and it was built according to his specifications over the next three years). A few years before Ortiz retired, he bought a piece of property on which to build a house and spent over a million dollars on it.
