Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas $12 Million NY Estate

If you’ve ever dreamed of living like a Hollywood power couple, this stunning estate in New York’s Hudson Valley might be your opportunity. Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas have listed their picturesque 12-acre property in the coastal village of Irvington for $12 million, according to The Wall Street Journal. The listing is managed by David Turner of Compass.

Zeta-Jones purchased the pre-war estate for $4.5 million in 2019. The Georgian-style house, originally built in 1929, spans over 11,600 square feet and features eight en-suite bedrooms and 12 bathrooms across four levels. The stylishly modern interiors are warmed by numerous fireplaces.

The stately brick and stone structure has a rich history, having been previously owned by Tiffany & Co. founder Charles Lewis Tiffany and the Matthiessen family, wealthy sugar merchants. During their ownership, Zeta-Jones and Douglas extensively renovated the property, adding luxurious touches throughout. The home now includes an elegant oak-paneled library that connects to a two-story library and a salon with its own bar. The lower level offers a recreation area, a gym, a kitchenette, and a 21-foot heated indoor pool, illuminated by large arched windows.

Other notable features include formal living and dining rooms, a brick-lined kitchen with an eat-in island and high-end stainless steel appliances, and an adjoining family room. The primary suite is particularly posh, boasting a separate seating area, a showroom-style closet, and a luxurious bath with a marble-clad soaking tub. The park-like grounds outside feature a 100-foot terrace that descends to a grassy and stone lounging area, along with 130 feet of waterfront on the Hudson River. There is also an attached four-car garage.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Zeta-Jones is selling the property because their children have moved out, and her work commitments are taking her overseas. “When I purchased our Irvington home I knew our family would share many happy times here, and we have,” she says, noting that they plan to spend more time in Bermuda and Europe.

The couple, known for their impressive careers in showbiz—Zeta-Jones for her Oscar-winning performance in Chicago, and Douglas for his roles in Fatal Attraction and Wall Street—previously lived in a 20,000-square-foot mansion in Bedford, New York, which Zeta-Jones sold for $20.5 million. Douglas, who has his own extensive real estate portfolio, had also listed their Central Park West apartment in Manhattan for $21.5 million, though it has since been taken off the market.
