Jeff Bezos as the New Owner of $80 Million Gulfstream Jet

Aviation enthusiast Jack Sweeney has reported that Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, took delivery of a Gulfstream G700 last month. This state-of-the-art jet, Gulfstream’s newly certified flagship model, has a base price of $80 million. Sweeney, known for tracking the flights of high-profile individuals like Elon Musk and Taylor Swift, shared on X (formerly Twitter) that the G700, bearing the tail number N11AF, was delivered on July 10, with its FAA certification granted five days later. The aircraft is registered under TVPX Aircraft Solutions.

Bezos is also rumored to own two Gulfstream G650s and a Pilatus PC-24, bringing the total estimated value of his fleet to over $200 million.

The G700’s delivery comes after nine months of delays. Earlier this year, the first G700s were delivered, with Qatar Airways receiving the initial two. There are also indications that Musk has ordered a G700. To maintain privacy, Bezos utilized the FAA’s Privacy ICAO Aircraft Address (PIA) program, which allows for temporary registration numbers to obscure flight details from public tracking.

The G700 boasts impressive specifications, including a maximum cruising speed of Mach 0.935 and a transcontinental range of approximately 7,750 nautical miles. The specific interior customization of Bezos’s G700 remains unknown, but such modifications could significantly increase the jet’s cost beyond the base price. The G700’s spacious cabin can be segmented into five distinct areas, including a bedroom with an en-suite shower, a central media zone, a large forward “ultra-galley,” and seating for up to 19 passengers, with 13 of these seats capable of converting into beds.

According to Gulfstream, the G700 features the largest cabin in its class, measuring nearly 57 feet in length. Competing manufacturers like Bombardier and Dassault Aviation also tout their latest ultra-long-range jets—the Bombardier Global 8000 and Dassault 10X—as leaders in the market.

The G700 represents the pinnacle of advanced business aircraft, offering enhancements such as large oval windows (20 in total), low cabin pressurization, adaptive lighting to reduce jet lag during long-haul flights, sophisticated air filtration systems, and cutting-edge entertainment technology.

The aircraft has set over 50 world speed records, frequently traveling between Savannah, Georgia (Gulfstream’s headquarters), and various cities for demonstration flights. Gulfstream credits the G700’s aerodynamic wings, new Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 engines, and advanced avionics for its improved fuel efficiency and overall performance.
