6 Private Jet with Penthouse Interiors

The interiors of VIP business jets often resemble luxurious residential penthouses, according to many aviation designers. While opulent cabins in the largest business jets are expected, designers are integrating advanced technologies with modern themes to enhance emotional and physical well-being, improve business communications, and introduce the latest residential design ideas into the skies.

Though major aircraft manufacturers offer customizable interiors, some buyers seek a bespoke approach that delivers an inspiring experience for royals, heads of state, or CEOs. These designs may reflect cultural elements from the Middle East, where many large jets are based, or unique tastes of individual owners looking to make a distinctive style statement.

Here are six standout new bespoke interior designs, both concepts and actual cabins:

CelestialSTAR | BBJ 777-9

The BBJ 777-9 boasts nearly 3,689 square feet of cabin space, the widest in the bizliner sector, providing an expansive canvas for custom design suited for royalty or high-ranking officials. Luftansa Technik’s CelestialSTAR concept combines palace-like luxury with cutting-edge technology. It includes a private suite with a bedroom, bathroom, and multifunctional “work and balance” area. The bedroom features advanced projection technology to transform walls into a cinema or showcase 180 degrees of art or photography. The ensuite includes the largest rain and massage shower ever designed for a private jet. The remaining cabin area features six Deluxe Suites, an Executive Area with 32 business-class seats, and a premium economy cabin with an Entourage Area. This concept received a Red Dot award for Design.

Jet Aviation Design | Airbus A330-300

Inspired by the Tsingy de Bermarah rock formation in Madagascar, Jet Aviation Design’s lounge concept for the Airbus A330-300 blends modern and classic aesthetics. The cabin features three-dimensional textures that create a cave-like “snug” with soft grays, beiges, and copper tones. Abstract, angular wall shapes contrast with curved furniture, creating an organic, sculpted space. The design is enhanced by a tiled floor with inlaid carpet, back-lit panels, and modern lamps. Lauren Steventon of Jet Aviation Design describes the design as a journey through natural forms and contemporary styling, merging nature with aircraft innovation.

Haven | B787-8

Natalie Rodriguez Luxury Design’s Haven concept for the B787-8 combines opulence with marble, high-gloss walnut, and gold accents, focusing on health, wellness, and sustainability. The lounge features a Carrara-marble veneered column, walnut accents, and a digital fireplace. HD televisions are discreetly hidden behind custom art pieces and retract into the column when not in use. The dining space and ornate galley can be separated by bi-fold doors for privacy. The Master Suite includes a king-sized bed with a tufted headboard, a chandelier-inspired fixture, a two-seat divan, and an imitation fireplace. A private wellness room has a treadmill and studio cycle, and the master lavatory features a full rain shower.

PierreJean Vision Design & Architecture’s Sky Blue concept incorporates advanced technology like sensitive lighting, integrated entertainment systems, electrical window shades, and smart fabrics. This design for the B787 emphasizes openness and comfort with neutral color tones, dark walnut entertainment partitions, executive leather seating, and two day beds. The main lounge creates a welcoming environment with a focus on contemporary and innovative elements.

Pinto Agency | ACJ320neo

Awarded by Robb Report for its innovative space use, Pinto Agency’s design for the Airbus ACJ320neo maximizes space for up to 19 passengers, including 17 sleeping areas. The private primary bedroom leads to an ensuite bathroom featuring one of the largest showers ever installed in an Airbus single-aisle aircraft. The design pairs high-gloss wood veneer with beige leather seating and contrasting brown tones throughout. The absence of overhead bins allowed for a focus on LED mood lighting, enhancing both atmosphere and functionality.

Winch Design | Bombardier 6000

Winch Design

London-based Winch Design completed an extensive overhaul of a dated Bombardier Global 6000 for AllianceJet. This makeover involved replacing satin-wood veneer, gold fittings, and upholstery with new materials while maintaining the original layout and dimensions. The cabinetry was wrapped in foil imitation wood, providing an authentic appearance at a lower cost and weight. The design features burlwood marquetry, 3-D slatted screens of light-colored wood and mirrors to enhance space, and retained rose-gold metal plating from the original aircraft.
