Jessica Simpson recently shared a heartfelt moment she experienced during a Delta flight, highlighting an act of kindness that left her deeply touched.
The 44-year-old singer and entrepreneur posted a photo on her Instagram Stories on November 4, showcasing a handwritten note she received, tucked inside a snack bag provided by the flight crew.
“Jess,” the note began, accompanied by a cheerful smiley face illustration.
“Just wanted to thank you for traveling with us. We appreciate, love, and support you. Continue to be a blessing and continue to be blessed,” the message read, signed by “Your LAX crew,” referring to the Los Angeles International Airport team.
Moved by the gesture, Simpson expressed her gratitude, captioning the post with “Kindness rules” and tagging Delta Airlines’ official Instagram account to acknowledge their thoughtful crew.
This uplifting moment followed another significant milestone Simpson recently celebrated. On November 1, she marked seven years of sobriety with an emotional Instagram post. Alongside a black-and-white photo of herself gazing out an airplane window, she wrote, “7yrs ago today I walked myself into the light of being alcohol free 🤍.”
Her followers and celebrity friends, including actor John Stamos, applauded her achievement. Stamos commented, “Bravo! 👏.”
Simpson first opened up about her sobriety journey in 2021 through a candid Instagram post. She explained her decision to quit alcohol, saying, “I needed to stop drinking alcohol because it kept my mind and heart circling in the same direction and quite honestly I was exhausted.”
Earlier this year, in August, Simpson responded to speculation about her sobriety after a social media user commented, “STOP DRINKING!” on a post celebrating her son Ace’s 11th birthday. Setting the record straight, Simpson replied, “I haven’t wanted or touched alcohol since October 2017 and it has been the best decision I’ve made for myself and for my family.”
She addressed the commenter directly, adding, “Thank you for your concern, but you have me very misunderstood. Sending love your way.” Simpson shares three children with her husband, Eric Johnson: Maxwell “Maxi” Drew, 12, Ace, 11, and Birdie Mae, 5.
Beyond her personal milestones, Simpson continues to make professional strides. In 2020, she released her bestselling memoir, Open Book, offering readers an intimate look at her life. The memoir resonated deeply with fans, leading her to embark on a new project this year—a documentary series inspired by the book.
In September, she announced the upcoming series in collaboration with Gunpowder & Sky and producer Van Toffler. “I am very humbled to team up with Gunpowder & Sky and Van Toffler, who has been a longtime collaborator and supporter of mine, to make a documentary series that is entirely real, raw, and more personal than anything I have done before,” Simpson shared in a press release.
Reflecting on the impact of her memoir, she added, “In releasing my memoir, Open Book, I was moved to learn just how much people saw themselves in my story. I am ready to share a lot that has happened in my life since that book was published, including an artistic journey and return to music inspired by pain and betrayal as well as beauty and forgiveness.”
Simpson hopes the documentary will resonate with viewers, creating a sense of shared experience. “I am looking forward to reconnecting and sharing my heart with all those who might need it in the hope that we can inspire each other and move forward on our parallel journeys,” she said.
From moments of kindness at 30,000 feet to celebrating personal milestones and professional achievements, Jessica Simpson continues to inspire with her resilience and authenticity, proving that both small gestures and monumental changes can leave a lasting impact.
