Alum Lea Black’s $37.5 Million Waterfront Miami Beach Home

Lea and Roy Black’s luxurious waterfront mansion, located on Miami Beach’s exclusive Star Island, is once again up for sale, nearly nine years after it first debuted on the market with an asking price of around $18 million. This expansive estate, overlooking Biscayne Bay, has had a fluctuating history on the market since 2015, with prices ranging from $15 million to $40 million, and even available for rent at $150,000 per month. Now, the couple is seeking nearly $38 million for the one-acre property, which they purchased in the spring of 2011 for $7.1 million, initially planning a renovation. The property is listed by Saddy Abaunza Delgado of ONE Sotheby’s International Realty and Elena and Stefano Iturriaga of London Real Estate Company.

Constructed in the early 1980s, the mansion sits on a uniquely shaped, one-acre lot that widens towards the bay. The estate includes a main house, which is accessed via a circular motor court adorned with a tiered fountain, as well as a separate guesthouse. The total square footage of the property is just over 9,700, offering nine bedrooms and 12 bathrooms. The grounds also feature a recently added swimming pool, a four-car garage, and a private 60-foot dock along 180 feet of water frontage.

Although interior images of the home are limited, likely due to its somewhat outdated design, previous reports have revealed several noteworthy features. These include a 10-seat movie theater, a sauna, and an office space. The main living area is expansive, featuring a fireplace and wood-trimmed French doors that open up to a bar-equipped veranda. Additionally, the home includes a formal dining room and a kitchen with an eat-in island, as well as high-end Viking and Sub-Zero appliances and a cozy breakfast nook. The primary suite boasts a luxurious marble bath, complete with dual vanities and a built-in soaking tub.

This property, located at 45 Star Island, is currently one of only two homes for sale in the exclusive neighborhood, joining Rosie O’Donnell’s former estate, which is listed for $54 million. Lea, who starred in the first three seasons of The Real Housewives of Miami (RHOM) from 2011 to 2013, later launched a successful beauty and skincare brand under her own name. Roy, her husband, is a prominent civil and criminal defense attorney who has represented high-profile figures, including Jeffrey Epstein and William Kennedy Smith. The couple maintains a primary residence in the Miami area and also owns properties in California, Texas, and another in the Florida Keys, which is currently on the market.

The Black’s decision to sell this estate reflects their ongoing real estate portfolio, with the stunning Star Island mansion being the latest chapter in their luxurious property holdings. Although the mansion’s aesthetic may be outdated, its prime location and sprawling grounds continue to attract attention from prospective buyers, ensuring that the property remains a coveted listing in the competitive Miami luxury real estate market.
