Flying Fox is soaring high once more.
The impressive 446-foot gigayacht has recently been removed from the U.S. sanctions list, allowing it to be chartered globally without any limitations.
In June 2022, the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) designated Flying Fox as a Specifically Designated National (SDN) due to its connections with Imperial Yachts. This Monaco-based yacht brokerage firm was the first to be sanctioned by the U.S. for allegedly providing “yacht-related services to Russia’s elites, including those within President Putin’s inner circle.” Following the sanctions, Imperial Yachts ceased its commercial operations and entered liquidation during the same month.
Despite being added to the sanctions list, Flying Fox returned to the charter market this past January through Bluewater Yachting Dubai. However, U.S. citizens, residents, or brokers were unable to book charters on the yacht. Fortunately, the recent removal from the SDN list on September 30 has now cleared the way for U.S. residents to board the luxurious vessel.
Once the largest superyacht available for charter, Flying Fox was delivered by the renowned German shipyard Lürssen in 2019. Designed by acclaimed Norwegian designer Espen Øino, this six-deck cruiser boasts a range of extravagant and innovative features, including the largest transverse swimming pool found on any yacht, along with the first cryo-sauna ever built for the high seas. Additionally, Flying Fox is outfitted with a two-deck spa, a professional dive center, two helipads, and three Jacuzzis, along with indoor and outdoor cinemas and an expansive open-air aft galley featuring five different types of ovens.
With an extraordinary internal volume of 9,022 gross tons (GT), the yacht provides a remarkable amount of onboard space. The modern living quarters, designed by Mark Berryman, can accommodate up to 22 guests across 11 luxurious cabins, complemented by a crew of 55. This impressive crew-to-guest ratio of two to one ensures that guests receive exceptional service throughout their stay. The upper deck is entirely dedicated to the owner’s area, featuring a full-beam primary suite, a lounge, a beauty room, an office, and a private terrace equipped with a fire pit and Jacuzzi. The remaining seven double cabins and three twin cabins also provide a lavish experience for family and friends.
Flying Fox is now available for charter in the Indian Ocean exclusively through Bluewater for approximately $3.3 million (€3 million) per week. This pricing reflects the yacht’s unmatched amenities and the luxurious experience it offers to its guests.
The removal of Flying Fox from the sanctions list is a significant development not only for the yacht itself but also for the luxury yacht charter market. As restrictions ease, there is likely to be an uptick in interest from high-net-worth individuals eager to experience the lavish lifestyle that such an extravagant vessel provides.
With its remarkable design and luxurious features, Flying Fox is well-equipped to offer unforgettable experiences at sea. From the expansive deck areas perfect for sunbathing to the opulent interiors designed for relaxation and entertainment, every aspect of the yacht has been thoughtfully crafted to ensure guest satisfaction.
Moreover, the presence of a dedicated crew means that every need and desire can be catered to, allowing guests to unwind and enjoy their time onboard without any worries. Whether guests are looking to host extravagant parties, embark on thrilling adventures, or simply relax in a serene environment, Flying Fox promises to deliver.
The yacht’s strategic location in the Indian Ocean makes it an attractive option for those seeking to explore some of the world’s most beautiful destinations. From the stunning beaches of Seychelles to the vibrant culture of Mauritius, guests will have access to a variety of breathtaking landscapes and experiences during their charter.
As Flying Fox takes to the seas once again, it stands as a testament to the luxury yacht industry’s resilience in the face of challenges. The yacht’s return to unrestricted status signifies a new chapter for both the vessel and its potential guests, offering a chance to indulge in one of the most extravagant maritime experiences available today.
In conclusion, Flying Fox is back and ready to impress. With its luxurious accommodations, state-of-the-art amenities, and unparalleled service, it promises an extraordinary experience for those fortunate enough to charter this magnificent gigayacht. Whether for a lavish getaway or an unforgettable adventure, Flying Fox is poised to set the standard for luxury yachting in the years to come.
