Nearly three years after Kate Beckinsale sold her longtime Los Angeles residence for approximately $400,000 more than the $3.6 million she initially paid in 2006, the property has resurfaced on the market with a new price of $4.3 million. The current listing is managed by Brandon Assanti of The Agency.
The four-bedroom, five-bath home, located in the Brentwood area, was owned by the English actress for 15 years. It was purchased by a non-celebrity couple for just under $4 million in the fall of 2021. Since then, the property has seen minimal changes, primarily limited to some cosmetic updates.
Perched on a ridge overlooking the serene Mandeville Canyon and shielded from the street by a cluster of tall trees and an attached two-car garage, the residence features a classic Cape Cod style with white wooden siding and stone accents. Inside, the home offers just over 3,600 square feet of living space, enhanced by an abundance of natural light streaming through numerous French doors. The interior showcases a blend of maple and tile flooring, high ceilings, and ample recessed lighting.
The home’s entrance is marked by a front porch with a large portico, leading into an open-plan layout. The main living area includes a living room centered around a stone fireplace, an adjoining dining room with white wainscoting and taupe walls, and an office/library with built-in bookshelves and additional storage. The spacious fireside family room connects to a gourmet kitchen featuring Carrara marble and solid walnut countertops, dual islands, and stainless steel appliances.
Upstairs, the primary suite reflects the home’s traditional decor style, complete with a double-sided fireplace and a sky-lit bathroom. A distinctive feature of this suite is access to a bridge that spans over the backyard, leading to a secluded hot tub nestled in the wooded hillside above the house. The upper floor also includes three additional bedrooms, one of which features a small loft accessible by ladder.
Although the backyard is relatively compact and does not include a swimming pool, it offers a private, beautifully landscaped environment. Highlights of the outdoor space include lush gardens, a large stone patio with a fireplace, and an outdoor shower.
Kate Beckinsale, born in London to actors Judy Loe and the late Richard Beckinsale, followed her parents into the entertainment industry. She gained prominence with her role in Kenneth Branagh’s 1993 film adaptation of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing, while still studying French and Russian literature at Oxford University. Beckinsale went on to star in several films, including Pearl Harbor and Laurel Canyon, before gaining fame as Selene in the Underworld film series starting in 2003, establishing herself as a notable action heroine.
