In August of the previous year, Anthony Glasson, the mind behind M51 Concepts, introduced an explorer yacht named Forge, drawing inspiration from volcanoes. Today, he unveils a more refined counterpart, aptly named Forge II, designed for those with a more understated taste in seafaring.
Spanning 269 feet, Forge II retains the angular silhouette of its predecessor but opts for a slightly less extravagant design. Created both internally and externally by the Hong Kong-based studio, the yacht boasts an ice-class steel hull and a lightweight aluminum structure. Unlike the original Forge, which was adorned with striking obsidian black and bright orange accents, Forge II features a more subdued exterior finish in metallic grays.
Anthony Glasson, who boasts over a decade of experience as a superyacht engineer prior to founding M51, highlights the main differentiator between the two designs: the aft deck. In place of a helipad and storage hangar, Forge II features an expansive swimming pool measuring approximately 25 by 11 feet, reminiscent of the size of a large one-car garage.
The main deck of Forge II hosts a semi-enclosed dining area and lounge that can be enjoyed throughout the seasons. Outdoors, the sun deck offers amenities such as a hot tub, BBQ area, bar, and day beds, while the bridge deck is equipped with a formal dining table seating up to 14 guests.
Inside, Forge II can comfortably accommodate up to 12 guests, distributed across two VIP suites and four twin cabins. The yacht’s flexible design allows it to sleep either 25 or 23 crew members, depending on the configuration of the crew quarters. This arrangement makes Forge II particularly well-suited for charter purposes. The VIP suites, positioned on either side of the upper deck, offer generous, floor-to-ceiling windows, while the remaining guest cabins are situated on the main deck.
The interior decor of the living areas follows a traditional minimalist style, featuring a soft color palette and an array of natural materials. In contrast, the cabins boast a modern ambiance, combining dark surfaces with vibrant furnishings. Notable amenities on board include a gym, spa, and a fully stocked tender garage.
Powering Forge II are engines designed to run on Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) and batteries, offering an impressive range of 5,000 nautical miles, ensuring the yacht’s ability to navigate virtually anywhere.
