Rob Dyrdek, a former skateboarder and reality TV star, recently purchased a third multimillion-dollar property within the guarded gates of Mulholland Estates, a mansion-strewn enclave between Beverly Hills and Sherman Oaks that is popular with celebs. Robert Simonds, entrepreneur, chairman, and CEO of STX Entertainment, sold the nearly 7,600-square-foot mansion to the “Ridiculousness” co-host (and producer).
With its carved eaves and porthole-like circular windows, this three-story home has a vaguely Italianate exterior, while interiors feature sculpted moldings and dark-stained wood floors polished to a glossy sheen and a high-end if a somewhat generic mixture of traditional and contemporary elements. Family-oriented spaces, including a library that opens to a courtyard that has a tiled fountain, and a spacious family room with a scalloped ceiling treatment, complement formal living and dining areas. An amateur or professional chef will find all the kitchen bells and whistles they need around the five-sided marble-topped island. French doors lead out to the backyard from the breakfast area.
In addition to the seven bedrooms and ten bathrooms, there is a guest suite located on the first floor and a main suite on the second floor, with a private terrace that overlooks a pancake-flat sprawl of the San Fernando Valley. There is also a corner fireplace in the sitting area, a walk-in closet, and gold fixtures in the buttery-tan marble bathroom.
An outdoor fireplace, built-in grill station, grassy gardens, and waterfall spa complement the terraced and custom-lit backyard, which makes al fresco entertaining a breeze.
Dyrdek and his wife, former beauty queen and Playboy Playmate Bryiana Dyrdek, were represented by Branden Williams and Rayni Williams of Williams & Williams at The Beverly Hills Estates, while the sellers were represented by Josh Altman and Matt Altman of The Altman Brothers at Douglas Elliman.
Approximately five years ago, Dyrdek, a real estate baller who has invested more than $24.3 million in his Mulholland Estates properties, set his real estate eyes on the prestigious enclave when he bought a vacant 3.1-acre parcel, which is the largest parcel in the community, where he plans to build a house designed by SAOTA. He purchased a 6,800-square-foot house two years ago for almost six million dollars. The house has since been extensively remodeled and will be on the market sometime in the next few months, according to Branden Williams and Rayni Williams, who joke about their client as “The Maverick of Mulholland Estates.”
Kendall Jenner, DJ Khaled, Paris Hilton, Christina Aguilera, Big Sean, and Vanna White are just a few of the rich and famous who own homes in the gated enclave.
