Further Lane is one of the most fabled streets in the Hamptons. Residents include Jerry Seinfeld, Lorne Michaels, Larry Gagosian, and Carl Icahn, as well as Martha Firestone Ford, Mort Zuckerman, Howard Schultz, and Ron Baron. Once a farmland road, it’s now filled with beautiful estates and some vintage farm buildings, sloping down to the Atlantic Ocean. There is a lot of wealth, peace, and quiet here.A much less well-known name owned the newest Further Lane estate, listed with Hedgerow at $52.5 million: Alan Seligson, chairman of an aerospace parts company who recently passed away. Four acres, 400 feet of ocean frontage, a cedar-shingled house, a detached two-car garage, grassy gardens, a swimming pool, and a spa are all included with that amount of money, along with a six-bedroom, five-bath cedar shingled house.
A teardown might be appropriate in the Hamptons given the electrified market there. There are only a handful of other homes in the long, private lane where the house is located. With two bathrooms, a walk-in closet, a sundeck, and a small office on the first floor, the exterior looks pleasant. The master suite sits on the second floor, with two bathrooms, a walk-in closet, and a sundeck. It all sounds awesome, doesn’t it?In spite of its high double dunes, this area of the coast does not have the best view of the ocean. Houses in this area are not always blessed with spectacular views, depending on where they are located.
If you’re rich enough, walking down the beach and borrowing sugar from the lovely Seinfelds is priceless.
