There can indeed be a complementary relationship between opposites when it comes to this sleek vessel.
Even superyachts are influenced by the yin and yang principle.
As part of its Beaverbrook Townhouse project, London-based design firm SP.9 has incorporated traditional Asian craftsmanship into contemporary interiors, and a new concept has just been unveiled that uses ancient philosophical concepts to suggest opposites can actually work together.
Its 164-foot exterior is sporty and almost menacing, but its interior is elegant and refined. Odisye is a yacht designed in partnership with Spanish studio Daroca Design.
“I was inspired by the strong personality of new owners, who love the antithesis of sporty chicness and curvilinear elegance with a touch of ancestral artistry,” Pei Li, SP.9’s creative director, said.
There are sleek, contemporary furnishings in the living quarters and a subdued color palette. A beautiful marble floor lines the main saloon, which features a giant curved sofa and a large dining table for entertaining. Post-dinner drinks can be enjoyed in the wine tasting room through a translucent glass wall.
Additionally, there are five cabins built to accommodate up to 10 guests. Comfortable materials such as leather, green onyx, and embroidered silk are used throughout each cabin to create an atmosphere of tranquility.
On the outside, four distinct decks cascade down the stern. A Jacuzzi and a bar can be found on the top sundeck. There is plenty of seating on the main deck, as well as a fold-out platform and a TV lounge on the bridge deck, which can accommodate up to 16 guests.
Odiseye also boasts a generous foredeck with more seating and a swimming pool on the opposite end of the boat to help her cut through the waves.
It was unclear what the vessel’s power and propulsion systems were, but you can expect enough grunt to travel long distances.
